My son got his first two teeth at 8 mo, but he'd been teething since 2.5 mo! The Dr told me teeth can move up and down in the gums for some time before they finally break through, and this can be very painful for the baby. He is 16 mo now and has his 8 front teeth but no molars yet.
I actually know a lady who's baby was born with his two bottom teeth (I saw the teeth when the baby was only a week old!). They say 6 mo is average, but obviously averages hide extremes. ;-)

Teething usually starts at six months as the average however there are different factors which other children remain toothless later than this. My children have different ages in having their first tooth- 7 months,8 months and 6 months.
Your son will have his teeth grown in due time so just wait a little bit, nothing to rush.

My first son got his first tooth at 4 mo! He teethed on his cousin's head and everything within reach for a a young baby. His cousin was just 6 days younger and didn't get teeth until he was 1 yr. Those 2 onery boys were like twins but opposite in every way. What one didn't think of the other one did!My sister's kids all got their teeth late and all of mine were early. Go figure!

My son got his first tooth when he was 6 months but he was teething for like a month before it came in.
If you guys were late teethers, your son will probably be one too. If your concerned about his developement, talk to his doctor.

My daughter got her 2 bottom teeth at 7 months. She's 14 months and has 10 teeth not. Teething usually follows heriditary patterns, so she'll be like you and your husband.
