Pregnancy & Parenting - 7 August 2006

Okay I am 39 wks and 6 days pregnant and I think it's finally comming to an end. My back has been having horrible sharp pains. I think I might be having back labor but I don't know. The baby hasn't really been too active today, but I've had pains throughout the whole day. This is my second child and you'd think you know, but I'm not sure. I haven't quite been myself today. If I sit down it hurts too. Could this child finally be ready to come?

I have missed a period, about 7 weeks late now. Done 2 home tests both neg then still no period, went to the docs and done urine test, neg but they wanted to re-test as there was some hormone there but not enough for a positive. Done a re-test and it came back the same. Gave 2 blood samples, first results back showing horomone but again not enough for a positive result.

I don't know whats going on!

At what point did you accept your child? There are no wrong answers, and I am not being judgmental. I just need to know. I am with a man right now that has made it hell for me since the day I first found out I was pregnant. Over time, he has come to be more accepting of the pregnancy, but my heart hurts so much because of things he has said in the past, such as "I will never consider it my child because it is unwanted", "I don't think it's really mine"(despite the fact that there is absolutely no reason for him to think otherwise) and telling me I cannot give the baby boy his last name because he doesn't consider it his. I just want the opinions of men that maybe have had a similar experience with their child and eventually come around. I am 6 months pregnant now. I am 29 and the father is 30. We both have pretty good jobs and have lived together for over 2 years. I am just hurt.. Any advice or wisdom? Personal experience?

How could someone beat or even kill their child? They are so precious and beauitiful. No child deserves something like that. Please give me your thoughts and feelings!

I know it sounds so stupid but we are trying to get pregnant and I always try to lay down for a while after......but if I stand up after is there still a chance? If not how long should I lay there? Also will sperm still be able to swim if you are not wet? A friend told me that the sperm wont travel if I am not wet because it needs the moisture to make its way down (or is it up)lol anyways is this true? thanks

I am rh negative and this is my second pregnancy. I was just wondering if they do the same procedure this time as they did last time. I had a shot during my first pregnancy then again after I had my child. I would like to know what month they will do this again or is it different the second time around?

I have two daughters ages 7 & 6. Their father hasn't lived with us since they were too young to remember. He sees them usually every Wednesday for about 5 hours, sometimes less. They love their dad. The problem we are facing now is that I've met a wonderful man who loves all of us. My daughters really have taken to him and we've spent much time together. Last Wednesday they visited with their dad. I told him about my new interest and how well it is working. (I'd not dated anyone in years) He took it upon himself to talk with our daughters without me. My daughters are now carrying heavy guilt because they think they are hurting their father's feelings. I'm not certain what he said to them and I don't know how to help them understand that they are not doing anything wrong by liking the "new guy". Does anyone have any suggestions of something I can do on my end to help them? Their dad isn't any help. And this relationship is promising for all of us. Thank you for your help.

I just took my 23 month old to get her first haircut ever. I HATE it. We went to a kids salon in town and I still hate it. I think it's too short. I had family and friends telling me my daughter had a "mullett" and they were beginning to convince me that it was one. Personally, I feel that a particular "friend" of mine was just jealous that her daughters hair was not as pretty as mine. With that said, my little girl's b-day is just shy of a month away. Any tips on how to get her hair growing faster??? PLEASE HELP!

Hi I am 19 yrs old 37 weeks pregnant with my first child. I was wondering if it is normal or if it has happened to anyone else. Ok my question is I have been depressed and I think about death and dying a lot it really scares me. It has never happened in my life until I got pregnant like the 2nd trimester, that is when I first strted thinking like this. Basically please do not tell me to talk to my doctor I am going to at my next appt. I am just looking to see if it has happened to anyone else when they were pregnant. A friend and co-worker is preg....the father works here too but doesn't know she is preg. they are moving in together in a few weeks...she knows he does not want anymore children (they are both divorced, he has 2 girls she has 1 son). I do not really like abortion....but she is going to get one without telling him...I offered to take her to the clinic Wednesday and be with her because no one else knows - - part of me feels guilty - part of me thinks I am being a supportive friend........what are your thoughts?
