Urinalysis - you will have to urinate in a cup. Blood work. Blood pressure. Weight. Talk to you and see if you have any questions.

I peed in a cup---to confirm pregnancy. Gave them the date of my last menstrual period. Then I had vaginal ultrasound---at my first visits (pg 3 times). Also, took blood pressure and got weighed. And gave medical history--for me and my husband. If you haven't had a pap in a year---they will do one. I have either had that done on my first or second visit. Blood work was taken at 2nd visits for me--more for blood typing, also some screening can be done. Then I think it is easy peasy for a bit. Another U/S is done somewhere around 20 wks. That's when they will start to measure your belly (fundal height). Then you will have a Gestational diabetes test around 24-26 wks. Then a Strep B swab (lovely) at the end---like 36 wks. You might have an internal around the same time...to check if you are dilating. Then you wait for baby. For the most part, your visits will be easy. You go in, get weighed, pee in a cup, check your blood pressure, measure your belly and listen to the heartbeat. Congrats!

I don't think they took any blood until later, checking for gestational diabetes, but maybe I'm wrong. They'll defiantly have you pee in a cup, give you a pelvic exam and give you so many pamphlets, books and stuff that you'll need to bring a bag in with you. If you have any questions write them down now so that you don't forget. Good luck and congratulations,

They may give you an internal examination, they will ask you a lot of questions, so take as much info about your health and well-being as you can. Ask them all you want to. No question is stupid, its your body and your baby. Enjoy every minute of the time and look after yourself. Good luck and God Bless. xx
