My one year old has started biting his cousin...really hard almost breaking the skin. I have tried everything from biting him back(i couldnt do it very hard!!) to putting soap in his mouth. Also tried time out. Help!!

Is it bad that I still rock my 18 month to sleep??? I feel that is my bonding time with her. She has a scheduled time and she knows when I grab her sippy and blanket that its time for bed. We are moving to a new house and I wanted her to start going to sleep "like a big girl", but I don't want her to be scared or cry for me. Any suggestions?!?!?!?!?

Together, we have four sets of parents (step/real), plus brothers, sisters, grandparents, and aunts/uncles who are all very excited. We do not want to chose any one person over another because of hurt feelings, but I also do not want to interrupt my newborn's sleep with visitations, and we want some alone time with her. What are some of your suggestions?

My son is 3, in May 04' when he was 1 and a half, I left him alone with my mother for the 1st time to go and get something for supper. My husband and I got coffee and went to the grocery store. On the way out, a car comes screaching through the parking lot, and it stopped in front of us, it was my sisters, and they screamed at me that my son had fallen in a lake and was unconcious at the hospital. I raced there to find out that he was unconcious, but breathing. After a time, he recovered perfectly. I found out, that my mother had thought it would be fine to let him walk around the yard by himself, he chased a ball into the lake behind their house.. significantly far away. To this date, she has not had him alone. She wants to take him for the night.. and I don't want to let her.. I'm still hurt and wary.. what should I do? Is this unreasonable?

My kid is five and I think he has Oppositional Defiant Disorder, although it has never been diagnosed. He's killed a couple of my fish before, on purpose. So that scares the hell out of me. He doesn't listen. At all. He doesn't respond to punishment. Smacks on the butt, time-outs, loss of privelages, etc. Nothing works. He is just generally naughty. In the time it takes me to take a shower he will do all kinds of things that he knows he is not supposed to do, like getting in my purse or the ice cream or little things like that.
He is sweet, and cares about other people's feelings, but his wants overide that as is usual with five year olds. He isn't autistic. He calls himself stupid when ever he is trouble, and believe me-that is NEVER rienforced. He has never been insulted like that by an adult. And no matter how mad I am I tell him "No, you're not. You're probably too smart." And he is smart. He just seems to be in his own little world. Any ideas on what to do to curb this behavior?

If you miss your period and pregnancy test is negative and you are pregnant does that mean you will be at higher risk of miscarriage? I have read that women who have low hcg levels(not enogh to give a possitive result on the day after their missed period) that they are more likely to miscarry! Is there any truth to this? or has anyone gone on to have a normal pregnancy who tested possitive after their missed period?

I'm 25 weeks pregnant and am having my partner's second baby. This baby is my first baby. I always dreamt that I would settle down and have my partner's first child so I'm gutted it hasn't turned out like that. I love him to tiny pieced but I still can't seem to get over the fact that I cannot change this. Does anyone have any words of wisdom or comfort please?

Our 18 month old son has adopted the lovely habit of waking up anytime between 4:30-5:30 am. Sometimes my wife can get him back to sleep by breastfeeding, but we are weaning soon and I'm looking for any tips on getting him to sleep in later. It doesn't matter if he goes to bed at 6:30pm or 10:30pm, he still wakes up (too!) early. Any advice out there moms and dads?

Okay so my ex broke up with me because he thought I cheated on him. His bestfriend which is a girl who has liked him since they were little told him I was .... and I didnt! Since then she has told him plenty of other stuff about me that aint true. Like that I had been messin around with this guy ever since we started datin last year...and we still are. I have tried many times to tell him the truth but he wont listen. I guess I just want him to believe me but I dont know how to. I mean he wont talk to me or anwser my phone calls. My father gets a social security check every month. If he adopts my baby, my baby will be getting a check around 950.00 monthly. If i put my baby father on child support, i am not garaunteed a full 500.00. My parents want to adopt because of the financial help for my child. My baby's father does not want to be active in her life and does not care about being on child support. Give me your advice.
