I had ovarian drilling, doesn't hurt as you are given a general anaesthetic, they cut a small hole in your belly button and then two more small holes near your ovaries and they laser off any cysts etc. I had it to help me conceive when they discovered that i had PCOS, unfortunately it didn't work for me but have heard it is very successful for many people. I only had to wait 1 month to have my operation, they like to do it soon if you are still young as you have a better cance of conceivig then. My only pain was caused by the gas that they fill you with to seperate your organs, it disperses into the rest of your body and I woke up that night with the most god awful pain in my back and shoulders, but it usually only lasts for a little while and they give you painkillers for it.

Good lord - could they come up with a better name for the process? Yech - ovarian drilling sounds horrid and painful.
What about ovulation stimulation or something like that.

If its the usual treatment for polycystic ovaries then you should not be on a waiting list any more than 3 month or so, unless its REALLY serious and you will be treated sooner. Not had it myself but check out this site http://www.womenshealthlondon.org.uk/leaflets/ovarian/ovaprint.html
Good luck
