If you miss your period and pregnancy test is negative and you are pregnant does that mean you will be at higher risk of miscarriage? I have read that women who have low hcg levels(not enogh to give a possitive result on the day after their missed period) that they are more likely to miscarry! Is there any truth to this? or has anyone gone on to have a normal pregnancy who tested possitive after their missed period?

K, here is the answer to your question. I had to take 3 pregnacy tests to tell me that I was pregnant. The first two said negative and the last said positive. If you have low hcg levels the doctor will monitor you but you are at no higher risk than anyone else at having a miscarrage. If this is your first, that is something that could happen. You have to prepare yourself for the worst and hope for the best when you are pregnant. But as for your question no matter what the test says and if you have low hcg levels, the same thing happened to me and I have a beautiful 3 year old son.

It depends how far along you are. If you are over a month along and it came back negative, I'd talk to your doctor. Other wise, the HCG levels are so low anyways the first month/month and a half, that it is normal. And no, you are now "more likely" to miscarry. Either you're going to miscarry or you wont, but the HCG levels only matter if they DROP. Not are low... good luck

Your HCG level can mean several things, but let a doctor tell you those meanings. Confirm your prego with a doc and they can take the HCG level for you along with an ultrsound. I had extrememly elvated HCG levels and came to find I was prego with triplets. See a doctor! Good luck.

Sweety, don't test the DAY after your missed period.

give it some time.

and no, I do not think their is any truth to that.
If you are prego, ConGRATS!! If not, better luck next time...

But test again in a few days.

Hmmmm... Go see your doctor right away...

I had a normal preganancy for a while, with that same situation, but I mis-carried at the 6th month and it was very painful for myself and my bf. Go see a doctor RIGHT away...
