I have a 3 year old boy and I am a stay at home mom with his dad working 2 jobs so dad isn't here a lot. I have read a lot about potty training boys and having dad do it but I don't have that option here. I really want my child out of pull ups and soon. He starts school in Aug and I don't want him in pull ups. He will sit on the potty and do nothing. He stands from time to time as well. As he is sitting on the potty and he thinks he has to go he will ask me to put a pull up on him. If he is just playing around the househe tells me he is wet or stinky after the fact. Bribes don't work, letting him run around naked doesn't work, watching potty videos and reading books doesn't seem to interest him enough to go. I am dealing with a real stubborn child and just like other children "NO" is his favorite word Starting tomorrow we are going to really really start training but I need some serious advice, maybe some proven advice, tricks of the trade or whatever, just help!!!

I'm a little confused and could use some advice. No sarcastic or nasty comments please! Ok, here's the thing... my last period was May 5. My fiancee and I had sex right around the time of my ovulation. I started bleeding on May 29 but it was lighter than a regular period and lasted for only two days. I took 3 pregnancy tests and they all came back negative. Now 3 weeks later I feel sick and tired all the time, my breasts are really sore and I am also having very light cramps in my stomach. What are the chances that all 3 tests were wrong? Could I be pregnant?

hey gang, anyone there have any advise about my situation? My wife and I of 2 yrs are so eager to have kids. Last week she was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer. After finding this out, our chances of having kids is down to nothing. I have 2 kids of my own from a preivous marriage but we've been trying for 6 years now. How can I comfort her now after the procedure is completed that we will no longer be able to have kids (of our own). I've told her many times that we have each other, my kids which my oldest (9) decided to spend the summer with us, a new home, new job, good health and so forth but this is a major blow to us and she goes to sleep crying since the news. Anyone have any thoughts? please let me know. I don't know what to say so she thinks I don't care. I know she's mad but I don't want her to be anymore.

He is very smart and he picks up on things fast. I will be home with him until January. I figure that I should take advantage of the time we have at home together and not just play all the time. Any suggestions for the kind of things I should include in our "learning time"?

ok I have had 2 misscarriages and im pregnant again im scraed to buy a pregnncy test and also to go to the doctor to hear bad news but i am settting an appointment to see my OBGYN but has anyone had multiple misscarriages and had full term pregnancy? The Pooh-bear who crawls around and plays a little tune and says a couple of sentences? My foster child freaks out, crying uncontrollably when this thing is on the floor next to him. He watches it from the exersaucer with no problems. Has anyone else had this experience with a child?

Me and my fiance` have been trying to concive for a little over a year now. No luck at all. My menstral cycle is normal, and when I went to the doctor everything was fine. I check my ovulation should be normal, and i've been taking prenatal vitamins for the folic acid. Any suggestions? I'm thinking of trying the ovulation pill clomid. Is that a good idea?

When my son was 16 months old we along with his pediatrician decided enough was enough with the ear infections. After 11 months of non-stop ear infections we proceeded to have the surgery to put the tubes in his ears. Before the tubes were in place we were noticing problems with his speech due to the fluid on his ears. ( he was saying plenty of words but some he would say without the ending and other's we could only understand because we were around him on a daily basis) Now 5 1/2 months after having the surgery his speech is improving. However, we're noticing a little bit of a problem still. Has anyone else had this problem? Is anyone familiar with activities to encourage vocabulary and proper speech? Are they're any web sites that are designed with games/activity ideas to help with this? I appreciate anyone's input on this!

I have no money to go places and the weather outside is already very hot. I have a problem with heat. We do go outside everyday to the park which is right around the corner. But after a while they get bored with that. Most activites indoors are hard because the 1 1/2 year old is a little terror. My 3 year old cannot paint or do other arts and crafts unless the younger one is asleep. What activities can I do indoors that they both can be a part of?

On a homeschooling message board a mother said she lets her children make decisions most parents wouldn't. They go to bed when they are tired, eat ice cream for breakfast, watch as much TV/play video/computer games as wanted, etc. All in the name of "unschooling." Where is the line? Don't children need bounderies? What happens when these children become teenagers? Can someone explain what unschooling is, and how in the world it is legal?
