Take her with you to buy a potty. Let her pick one out and then also take her with you and get a toddler book about potty training for girls. They really like the one that has the button where you can flush on it because flushing can be intimidating. Just talk about it alot and buy her some big girl panties with princesses on them or whatever she likes and go from there. in the beginning, she will not tell you she has to go. Take her to the bathroom about every 20-30 minutes and when she does go, explain to her that she is going potty! Make it a really "big girl" deal.

I started potty training my daughters as soon as they were old enought to talk and tell me that they needed to go. It takes a while with some and some just do it naturally. It was different with all of my kids. Get some of those really thick training panties,a surpluss of shout, and some plastic diaper covers and get to it and don't stop and then start again because that can cause confusion for your child. Have fun, and oh yeah, at night (this part really sucks) make your child go potty atleast twice during the night.

I am having a similar problem with the potty training. My son is wonderful at telling me he needs to go, which one he needs to do and will voluntarily run to the potty. However, when we get there he sits, and sits, and oh yeah, sits some more but never actually goes to the bathroom. What's the deal with this? We tried on our first pair of big kid's undies the other day, had an accident and it was though it never even phased him. I thought maybe, just maybe, that if he felt himself get wet it would trigger something.

Just take the diapers off while she's home, eventually she'll stop going on herself. It might not be the best method but it's what I did with my son and he was potty trained within a month.

When we were ready to start potty training, I went on line and looked for books to read to her (there are a ton!) and got a couple for me, too. There are even DVDs/videos on it. One important thing to remember...don't push it. If she isn't ready yet, wait a month and try again.

take her to the potty with you. 1st you go, then tell her to go. Monkey see, Monkey do. Don't pressure her, just let her take her time and figure it out.
