Hi
I have a job which keeps me away from home a lot. Recently i had to spend 9 months in America. A few weeks before i got back my wife rang said that she was pregnant. This obviously blew me away. I cant believe she left it so long to tell me. Anyway, as i'd been away for nearly 9 months i jumped straight on a plane and left my assignement early as the baby would be born any time soon. When i got back my wife was big but not massive. However ive been back for 8 or 9 weeks and the babies still not been born. This is approaching 11 months or so now since we last had sex and conceived. I've been very worried and would have thought the doctors would have induced her by now. Apparently the doctors told my wife though that in very rare cases the child develops very slowly and the pregnancy is extended. She thinks to could be as much as 13 months. As i've been working a lot my brother has been going to the doctors with her and has confirmed this. Has anyone experienced this themselves?

Just wondering how many older women are here trying to conceive. I have just turned 38 and am trying for my first one. Does anyone have any encouraging words to say as all I ever see or hear is "infertile after 35" "less chances after 35" .. those things alone cause me stress and I am sure it is not helping.

I had sex with my girlfriend today... I used a condom but i THINK that some quantity of sperm (negligible, though ) may have leaked in.. How can i make sure she won't get preg? Urgent reply required. I also need info on usage regarding diff emergency contraceptive pills or whatever.. How much time from when we had sex can they be used to successfully avoid preg? Any other method??

I have been with this guy for almost 10 months and the last four times we have had sex he cumed in me, I think I might be pregnanat but I'm only 16, i am not really ready yet plus my mom would be dissapointed in me if I was she would also kick me out. Hi
I've been on at my son to get a job for quite a while, something which will set him up for life. However he has just got himself a job with a travelling magic show. He is the person who 'disappears' in the illusions by going through a trapdoor and giving the impression that he has disappeared off the stage.
Obviously this is no sort of career and i feel i should get him to quit. Do you think he is seeing this as a career or just a stage that he's going through?

Has anyone gone through this, and if so, how did you cope with the depression and stress and not let it affect the baby... We are still living together and the fact of the matter is that it is very difficult to still have him around and simply living separate lives? By law, he does not have to move out, unless he voluntarily does.

what will improve a fathers chance of custody? Presently, father works, mother stays at home looking after child. For instance, is it best for the father to continue to live in the family home, or to move out? what is the court looking for in order to improve the chance of him getting custody? if the mother is on medication for depression, would this have a significant effect on the outcome?

We have never had a set bedtime, when she gets tired, we put on our pj's, get a fresh diaper and breastfeed. She has recently stopped sleeping at the breast and will pop off first then go to sleep. Just in the past couple of weeks when I go to lay her in her crib she wakes up and screams. She does not cry herself to sleep, only gets louder and more irritated the longer I let her go, very hard sobbing, big tears, snot, red head/face, the works. I occasionally bring her to bed with us but this is not conveient and not a habit I want to start. She also seems to want to play instead of sleep. After she has her bedtime "boob" she will sit up and start playing peek-a-boo with the blankets and pillows instead of laying down, she gets mad and freaks out when I make her lay back down. She has started keeping herself awake until she literally passes out from exhaustion. None of us are getting to sleep on time anymore, it has been taking an hour or two or longer to get her in bed at night.

I have just started cloth diapering and I wanted to know if you put your prefolds in the dryer. I'm in an apartment in Germany, so there's not a yard to hang in and not much sun. I have heard that you shouldn't dry AIO's or covers, but what about the rest?

(I really don't feel like hunting down research online, I've done that before. I wanted to know what real mommies actually do in their own homes.)
