and they let him in the Mall and the movies with no shoes??????

barefoot at home....or running around the park, beach...etc.....is fine...I went barefoot most summers when I was a kid ( and even a few winters, lol )

but, I think stores have rules......

no shoes, no shirt, no service....

I wouldn't let him go barefoot to those public places anyway...even if they did let him....

you have any idea what people throw, split, excrete onto the floors of those places????????

I'm a 12 year old and my parents don't care whether I'm wearing shoes or not. they say I'm big enough now and they are saying this since I was 10 years old. And about your son, that's a strange thing. As a child I can understand what he feels and how you should tackle him. Here's what you should do: Tell him that going barefoot can't only cause dangerous diseases and infections but can also make you look strange in the whole lot of people. They will think that you are a poor beggar boy who doesn't have any shoes to wear. Tell him that by going barefoot he is making a fool of himself. And get him a new pair of comfortable shoes.

my son LOVES to go barefoot all the time also! Now we know are kids can not go into public places barefoot right ! so to solve this problem We bought a pair of slip on flip flops, and sandles that my son leaves in the car and whenever we go to any public places he knows aleady that he has to wear the shoes,,, so it is totally not a fight cause when we are done doing the store thing he kicks them off in the car and they stay there ! The same goes for my teenage daughters ! Hey we cant stop them but we can teach them to deal with it !

My daughters like to go barefoot all the time as well. But I have explained to them that they can not go into a store without shoes and that seemed to work for all of us. They kick their shoes off in the car but the minute we pull up at the store, they put there shoes right back on..Good Luck !

I let my kids go barefoot whenever it's possible. They don't go barefoot into stores generally, but some places don't mind. They go to the grandmother's houses barefoot but usually take shoes in case they need them.

let's wait when he'll be 11 if he still does that.

too early to be worried about that for now. at some point at the stage of growing ups, there are so many things that they want to experience.. and think there's nothing wrong with what they're doing. somehow as they mature they will know what are the do's and dont's from the people that they have interacted and see each day.
as for now.. don't give up reminding him but not to the point that will make him be irritated and annoyed of your advices. believe me he will learn soon at the right time. let him enjoy what he's doing for he will only pass that stage once..

so no worries.. God bless! :)

In the house. It is not allowed in the mall or movies to go barefoot. And it is dangerous.

Oh com'on u can't just let the children do whatever & whenever they wish to. After all it's the question of their safety.

They might get hurt somewhere or get some infection.

You have to be firm with the children on certain matters.

You know as well as I do that he would not be permitted in public places without shoes so whats up with all these barefeet questions?

You really should find a better hobby.
