Yes! I just returned from an airplane trip to visit family in Florida with my 12 week old. We took her car seat and on the first flight there were empty seats so they let us have one (by the window) but your car seat has to say FAA regulated on it. On the second flight there wasn't an extra seat so she got to sleep on my lap and they checked the car seat at the gate.

I think if you bring the car seat you have to pay for the extra plane seat. If you bring no seat they buckle the baby to you- request a seat at the head of the row for extra room for you and the car seat.

Yes you can. However, you have to pay for the seat to put the car seat in. (So you are buying an extra ticket for the baby) Most airlines will let you carry your baby with you on your lap under the age of 2 for free, so most people do not opt to buy the extra seat.

Yes, and it is the more reccomended way to fly with your baby on account of safety.
Downside...you have to buy another ticket for that baby. And there is usually little-to-no difference between an adult price and a child price. So it is expensive.

Now, if you want to be economical, any child under the age of 2 can be a lap-child. It is free. You just tell your reservation agent that you will have an "infant in arms". They should note it on your ticket. Some airlines require you to have a birth certificate for the child....especially if they are 2 yo (to prove you are not sneaking an older child in w/o paying for them)

Yes, it costs full price for the seat for your baby's car seat. If you hold your baby it is free, but still bring your car seat with you, just have it checked with your luggage.

I dont think so. I've recently moved to another by plane, and didn't see any babies in car seats. They would probably give you boosters, secure them, or you would have to hold the baby.

yep...and they will check your stroller. Your baby doesn't need a seat/identity until 24 months I believe so you can hold your baby on your lap and avoid the baggage if you won't need the seat at the other end (if you're renting, if you can check it or if someone there has one you can borrow). Have a fun trip!

Yes but that means you have to buy them a ticket. When your child is under 2, you can have them in your lap and check the carseat as luggage or bring it with you through security and check it plane side.

i work for the travel industry and it is required that you have a car seat for your child. if the child has a seat on the plane. ask the individual airlines about their requirements concerning the car seat. northwest accepts it.

depends on the carseat - some aren't FAA approved. Check the owners Guide of your car seat to be sure, or call the airline - they have a list of approved seats.
