You are not doing anything wrong. Did you ask yourself what you were doing wrong when he started sleeping through the night at such a young age?
Babies have their own personalities and their own needs. You can compare your baby to a mythical "average" baby, and he will *always* come up short somewhere! There are just no averages when it comes to human beings!!
Your son will sleep through the night when he is developmentally ready. For most babies, this is somewhere between 6 and 12 months, but there are exceptions. (My 22 *year* old still doesn't sleep through the night--but he no longer needs *me* when he wakes up!!)
Night waking is actually good for him. Sleeping too long or to deeply is a risk factor for SIDS. When you are waking up bleary-eyed to nurse your son, keep in mind that you could be saving his life...you won't feel so annoyed at him.
You do *not* need to give him any solids. It will probably not help him sleep longer, but even if it does, it works because he can't digest it, so it sits in his stomach for long periods, fooling his body into thinking he's full so that he doesn't have an appetite for nutritious food. It will also increase his likelihood of allergies, asthma, diabetes, and cancer *throughout his life*. Yes, many babies do get early solids and survive it. It *probably* won't kill or permanently injure him, but why risk it?
Just relax and enjoy the *unique* person that he is.

You're not doing anything wrong at all. Babies are on their own schedule. I have an 11 mo. old who hates sleeping. At bedtime he shakes one leg to keep himself awake (my husband calls it starting his Harley), or he'll turn his head from side to side to stay awake, even with his eyes closed. Sometimes he'll sleep all night, sometimes he's up 3 times. Teething makes a big difference in sleep patterns, so you might try Tylenol. It's hard to know why they wake up cause they can't tell you. This is my 4th child and all the others slept pretty well. He's in daycare all day, too, so sometimes I feel guilty that he doesn't get enough mom time. Anyway, sorry for the babble and lack of help.

Probably a growth spurt making him hungry more often. Make sure baby is not too hot or too cold.
I have heard that babies reliably sleep through the night once they reach 15 lbs but mine is 20 lbs and she still gets up in the night every two or three days.

Mine did the same thing...my Dr told me to give him a tablespoon of rice cereal at bedtime when he started waking up in the night. I started doing that, and he would sleep right through till 7 or 8am.

It may be a phase, or he/she may be ready for some solid foods, if you havent already started. My daughter would do that periodically for a week or so and then go back to normal. If it has been longer than two weeks, then I would say she probably could use some rice cereal in the evenings. May keep her full for longer. good luck!

You aren't doing anything wrong. The baby is growing and needs more to eat. There's probably nothing wrong with the baby either. I think you are worrying too much. If it would make you feel better, talk to your pediatrician and see what he or she says.

You're not doing anything "wrong". Sometimes babies go through phases. Just like anyone else. I breastfed both of my boys.
