Here's a question. If the terrorists who have already murdered thousands of Americans are openly backing one political party in our country, along with several specific presidential candidates, all because they know these people will give them victory, shouldn't we as Americans NOT vote for those people? I feel that this is just good common sense and generally pretty sound logic. What do you think?

It seems Y!A atheists like James F and Trouble Maker love to denounce religion (i.e. Christianity only. No insults on Islam though, and we all know why.)

They seem to think they know everything and they have all the answers and anyone who believes in God is a fool in need of an atheists guidance.

So, should I discard my Bible, give up on my church and embrace monkey ancestors and Darwinism?

Your thoughts are most generously appreciated.

**Yeah, I know this is the Politics section, but James F and trouble maker frequently spout their atheist views on here and so I want them to see this question**

Just last week Bush was at the site of the fallen bridge for his photo promising to help repair the fallen bridge.

Just yesterday when asked about a proposed bill to help repair about 70,000 bridges that have been declared "desperately in need of repair", Bush said he would veto it, and said that congress must prioritize what it wants to spend money on...clearly implying bridge repair is not that important. He said that if they want to fund bridge repair, they should not do it via a gasoline tax as they want but rather by cutting some other needed program. Bush however did not mention whether the cuts would come from education, border security, medicare, etc....
But he sure acted like he could take it or leave it no matter what was decided.

I hear this all time but it does not square with the facts;

"But what really astounded him was the amount of giving: In 2000, he
says, conservative households gave 30 percent more money to charity
than liberal households."

"It's down the line," he says. "Religious people are 21 percent more
likely to volunteer in explicitly secular causes. They're even twice
as likely to donate blood."

then what is so terrible about the idea of gay marriage? Shouldn't it be all about people having the same amount of rights? And doesn't the "treat people as you would like to be treated" mantra also come into effect?

I don't care if you disapprove of their lifestyle, or if your religion tells you to hate them because of what they do behind closed doors. The thing we should remember more than anything is that they are PEOPLE and they come with the same feelings the rest of us do. Ergo... they deserve the same amount of rights we do. The right to a tax break for being married. And the right to make major decisions for the other, especially for something as important as a decision involving life support.

And- guess what- they will continue to lead their lifestyles the way they choose to, whether other people like it or not. If they're already living together, what is so terrible about a piece of paper?

Does the 7-year "live-in-marriage" law work in terms of gay couples?

Yes our tax dollars again went to the pockets of the rich .

The poor already know they have less money its the rich that are getting hit now and do not like it so Bush just gave them all 60 billion to divide out of tax payer dollars hurting the poor even more .

Some say that the protests and fighting contributed to the failure to defeat N Vietnam. This is not about whether we won or lost, whether it was right or wrong. This also is not an attempt to compare Vietnam and Iraq. My question is about us. Are we acting the same(by fighting/arguing with each other) and could it cause the outcome in Iraq to be less than favorable?

Back when the Oslo accords were agreed, there was a great deal of euphoria in both Israel and Palestine. Both countries people were looking forward to the idea of a two state solution. Yet through the lack of any real advancement to the country of Palestine being formed the situation has became worse and worse

Now we have a situation were the vast majority of Palestinian people are living in poverty. They can see no improvement in their standards of life through all of the negations with Israel

Is it any wonder the Palestinian people have voted for the radical hamas movement? In little over a decade through Israel and the West's failure to deliver, the Palestinian people have now no hope. When people have no hope they go for desperate measures.

1. Because they have, post JFK, been taken over by anti USA leftist like Michael Moore and Cindy Sheehan they will NOT defend the country from foreign enemies.

2. They will gut the military and intelligence services to pay for all the handouts they promise their supporters.

3. They always raise taxes. Every time without fail. JFK was the last dem to CUT taxes.

4. They are hostile to people of religious faith.

5. They are the pro gay marriage and abortion on demand party

The republicans are FAR from perfect but that does not mean people want us to be like CANADA. No military and never ending entitlements.

(On My 360 page Blog - I listed many reasons why I like George W. Bush. I challenge thos on the left to accept the truth.)

Just look at the questions and answers here. Questions are phrased to bring out the worst of those with opposing views. Answers have sunk to name calling. ("The President is a moron","red staters sling hate", "why are Bush supporters so dumb?") I can remember when people would disagree vehimently with a politicians policy, but they were never attacked on such a personal level as now.
I personally didn't like President Carter but I never wished him to be assasinated. I sure don't agree with Senator Kennedy's policies, but don't wish the "Taliban had better aim" as was commented on Y/A by numerous "enlightened" posters. I don't agree with any of the democratic presidential candidates, but don't wish ill on any of them. I don't agree with most of the republican candidates either, and don't wish ill on them. There is hate being spewed from both sides. Others may have different political views than you, but they still deserve respect.
