Back when the Oslo accords were agreed, there was a great deal of euphoria in both Israel and Palestine. Both countries people were looking forward to the idea of a two state solution. Yet through the lack of any real advancement to the country of Palestine being formed the situation has became worse and worse
Now we have a situation were the vast majority of Palestinian people are living in poverty. They can see no improvement in their standards of life through all of the negations with Israel
Is it any wonder the Palestinian people have voted for the radical hamas movement? In little over a decade through Israel and the West's failure to deliver, the Palestinian people have now no hope. When people have no hope they go for desperate measures.

Remember back in 1994 when Hamas bombings of civilian Israeli targeted in retaliation for the Hebron massacre resulted in stern Israeli government warnings to Jordan. Also, four years ago, the Arab League's 22 members agreed that they would all recognize Israel and declare peace, so long as the Jewish state withdrew from all the land it occupied in 1967. But Hamas, which now controls the Palestinian Authority, was elected on a platform that, at least notionally, rejects such a compromise.

No way, the reason for the HAMAS rise in the elections was not because of lake of peace agreement but because of the corruption of the Palestinian authority and ARAFAT.
one more reason is the radical Islamics that becomes a trend these days all over the world.
the Palestinian people in GAZA strip have become hostages in their own home of Islamic HAMAS militants how are assassinating innocent citizens every day.

You are wrong in your statements. Israel has tried to live in peace with all of it's neighbors. The truth is muslim crazies want to destroy all of the Jews and take over the country of Israel. Hamas is the sworn enemy and has the goal of destroying Israel. That attitude and behavior are unacceptable to the civilized world.

Is it Israel's responsibility to support Palestinians?
Palestinians said they wanted their own state. They got it but now, destroying Israel is necessary?
