SFAA, obviously you have not worked in a position that administers medication on a medical-surgical floor, adult care facility or AIDS unit!

pantagruel, dept. of transpotation is not backed by a union as powerful as the AMA, and the department heads are not paid million dollar salaries. Road materials are not guarenteed profits equal to pharmecutical and medical supply companies and when a road collaspes, multi billing of private, state and federal programs are not common.

David R, it was during the Clinton Admin, that AIDS Drug Assisatnce program was taken over 100% from the Ryan White foundation that guarentted all people with AIDS will get treated. Under Clinton's plan (Article II) eligibility was/is: women, children, men un 24 yrs old, men who are married or have dependant children. Consider American considers HIV a "gay disease" it is odd that group is eliminated from eligibilty in a federal plan that costs us 790 billion dollars annual in tax money designed for HIV.
If this is comendable to you, it explains much of your comments!

Berge70: you are right, it is apples and organges. The point I was trying to make is that I wondered if the excess of health care may be a manipulation to undermine our nation. A small group facilitates the excess and depends on incompetence to perpetuate the problems.

TAT: I was asking more about CEO's recieving multi million dollar salaries with tax free bonus' and get paid six month salaries when asked to leave so a friend/or child can have that position. These institutions get federal funding to bail them out in addition to insurance that is guarenteeing (fix prices) payment.

Socialized healthcare will cost a fortune. At some point entitlement costs will grow to the point that the working people will no longer be able to pay the bill. That will be Americas downfall if we don't get tax and spend under control.

Okay,Skippy, let's do some 'splainin' to you.

Contrary to the myth about Ronnie Ray-Gun and Star Wars being the downfall of the USSR,it was actually the continuation of Truman's policy of Containment and seventy years of stupid economic choices that lead to downfall of the USSR.

As for that magnificent socio-economic and medical postulation that you so triumphally exhibited, the fact of the matter is this, more than one-third of the American population.not the 47 million the MSM lie about, have no health insurance, and get nothing more than rudimentary treatment at best.

Actually, the health care crisis is most like Star Wars in that.like almost everything that the Reagan Administration did,it was harmful to our economy.Hopefully, somebody will come along and clean up the mess like Bill Clinton did(Bush 41 was just a continuation of Reagan).

Russia wasn't ruined by SDI, Star Wars. Their economy was a hollow shell to begin with. Could barely feed their population. Not enough fuel for military, government and private sectors, ruble only had decent value in small parts of the world. Star Wars helped, or rather Reagan's buildup in general helped, but it wasn't the smoking gun.

And what health care crisis? Who said taking 30 pills a day was good for you? Less Kool-Aid.

What crisis? You mean that fact that we don't have to take an ambulance to the hospital just to see a doctor? Or that fact that big business shells out millions on employee insurance. Or the fact that the government spends billions? Or the fact that there are thousand of free clinics? Or the fact that drug companies of patient assistance programs? Take the money from the doctors and they will do something else leaving the poor dumb sap to do their jobs.

The lack of Universal Health Care will definitely ruin America!
Do you think that we should have private fire care? After all ,they do come out for FREE to put out fires of poor people that don't pay taxes. Do you think that you pay too much for Universal Highway care? After all, the roads are used by anybody, even illegal aliens!

LMAO. Star wars was nothing more than filler for Ronnies speeches. It would not have worked and the USSR knew it.

Dr. Ruth could have president then and the Soviet Union still would have fell. Reagan had nothing to do with it.

Star Wars ruined the USSR? -- news to me.

Star Wars didn't EXIST at the time of the fall of the Berlin wall and to a very large degree STILL doesn't.

Do yourself a small favor and read a book every once in a while instead of regurgitating crap you heard on the radio

"Free" healthcare just translates to higher taxes. The most modest estimate I've heard puts it about 15% higher taxes for free medical care for everyone. That doesn't take into account increased usage for medical care that will inevitably occur, and the government red tape that will follow. High taxes are bad for the economy, as most people know.

Your comments seem to be coming from outer space. We will continue to have health care in the US. It will continue to be private enterprise. How you choose to pay for your healt care will still be up to you.
