LOL- gay marriage. They wo't do anyting on health care. And since gay marriage doesn't really matter as an issue, they make it an issue!
The republicans are good at taking a non issue and using it to maks the issues the country needs.
I could care less if someone is gay straigh or other. let peope get married- who cares. But the republicans act like it is th worst thing ever.
They make issues that are not going to change the face of America nd then likek health care they refuse to make it happen.

enable's pass element via element: a million) gay marriage has no longer something to do with the unfold of AIDS. Gays marrying could be much less probably to unfold illnesses than gays who're no longer married. single human beings have extra sexual companions than married human beings (oftentimes). As a conservative, i'm detrimental to gay marriage for 2 motives: initially, i do no longer purely like the assumption of re-writing the dictionary to make it extra politically applicable; secondly, federally regarded marriage ability tax reward - those reward have been meant to help offset the cost of elevating infants, and because 2 adult adult males can no longer conceive a new child, they do no longer want the tax benefit, noticeably no longer with a budged deficit it somewhat is measured in the trillions. 2) Healthcare IS a disaster. the reason it hasn't blown up yet is with the help of the fact the commonplace public of it hasn't long previous into result yet. Massachusetts already has somewhat an analogous gadget, and that they elected a Republican (Scott Brown) to the U. S. Senate to attempt to resign Obamacare from passing. which could inform you some thing. 3) decision power is wasteful. California wanted to construct a brilliant photograph voltaic farm in the desolate tract, and have been stopped via liberal environmentalists - which could inform you some thing, that liberals have been those attempting to resign photograph voltaic ability; an analogous could be mentioned of the late Ted Kennedy attempting to avert Cape Wind in his abode state. Republicans have traditionally been in prefer of shown, effective forms of decision power: nuclear, ethanol (which has been used with great fulfillment in Brazil), and so on. All we want now's to strengthen import cost lists on ethanol (Obama helps the cost lists), and build new nuclear ability plant life (Obama opposes this). So extremely, shouldn't that be 3 strikes against the liberals?

While the first answer came close nailing it. I'd say gay marriage. Republicans showed up in droves for the anti-'gay marriage amendment' but health care, education or the like doesn't seem to get there attention. At recent rally here in KY, they showed up in droves to ban domestic partner benefits. Apparently denying health care to gays or any other measure of happiness, and it doesn't matter if heterosexual partners get nailed to, is paramount.

Apparently, they seem more obsessed with gay marriage. After all, every single anti-gay marriage amendment that was passed in several states were backed by "family values" conservatives, the same conservatives who harp that gov't should have less interference in our lives. Ironic, isn't it? Granted, some moderate Republicans are sincere about fixing health care, but social conservatives for the most part seemed to be driven by social "wedge" issues such as this rather than deal with real problems such as health care. In their view, the market will "cure what ails you."

I think they are equally important to republicans - We want to keep the health care system in the United States the strongest in the world by not turning it into a inherently ineffective socailist program and we oppose Gay marriage because there is no such animal - marriage is between one man and one woman, if you don't believe me, look it up at dictionary.com

Hopefully health care since gay marriage is of importance to a limited group, rather than health care which includes allot of groups.

I think they care more about gay marrieges then they do health care. because for one if they press the issues of heath care everyone will disagree on there opinions and they know for sure it will cost them money to lower the cost of heath care so they might not even care to bring tat subject up. On the other hand gay marrieges they like to piss people off and they dont care about peoples feeling or suggestions they just care about convincing people its a bad thing. So there for I beleive they care about less important issues then they do whats really important.

Both, they are both big issues, Health care is on top due to the fact it concerns every human in the United States. Gays are a fast growing group, they are like every one else, they work hard are even harder 9 out of 10 are smart, they have control and working harder to have more control. I am not Gay but I have friends that they are they respect me and I repect them. Thier my friends forever.

I think both are important. They don't want to spend money to guarantee basic health care to all Americans, but their base is a lot more likely to vote for them if they appeal to the ignorance about gays.

neither one appeals to them. They enjoy being on health care through their jobs, where more goes out from their company in regards to their healthcare, rather than out of their pockets.
And they enjoy continuing to deny other people rights, only this time it's based on religious beliefs...
The white man's war with the blacks has silenced some, and their war with women has silenced some as well.
Now apparently it's the gays' turn for war, in terms of them getting married.
