The U.S. military also said five American troops had died in fighting this week — four northeast of the capital and one in Baghdad.

The ONLY thing that the democrats were promising to do about national security was to implement every one of them. They criticized the president and the republican congress for not taking action on them.

So, what happened? I think you liberals dropped the ball on that one, didn't you? Or was this just more methane out of your mouths?

I keep finding less and less forks at my house and I know you hippies are the ones taking them. Ya'll are the only group that takes without asking. I'm sure it was for the good of the people but I would like you to return them. So give me back my forks.

Or if the hippies didn't take them, where do they go?

They complained long and hard about fuel prices during the elections. Now that they are in control, why are they doing nothing? Don't say they don't have the power. They believe they have the power to over rule the President on his war policies, why not his energy policies? They have already gone abroad to independently engage in international diplomacy, why not deal directly with the oil producing countries to lower oil prices? Why have they not even addressed the high cost of fuel? I see no debate on the Hill.

Poet Iqbal says--Islam is not like Christianity. It is not a religion
of private conscience and practice.Islam comes with certain
"legal concepts".The concepts have "civic significance" and
create a certain kind of social order. The "religious ideal"
cannot be seperated from the social order. Therefore the
construction of a polity on national lines,if it means a
displacement of the Islamic principle of solidarity,is simply
unthinkable to a Muslim."

Therefore the Urdu speaking Mussalman of UP.BIHAR &
Hyderabad must reform themselves to become a real
member of INDIAN POLITY??

Why haven't you made us victorious? You are the only ones who care, you are the only ones who can win. That is what you told us. That is why we elected you to a second term in 2004. You were the only ones in power for four years. You got all of the money you needed, and we were patient. Why haven't you won this war yet? And when are you going to? So far, congress has continued to fund your crusade against terrorism...even though they don't agree with your handling of it. What more do you need?

I see what Bush was trying to do. If Iraq became a free market society where people were free it would spread like a virus throughout the region. The desperation which breeds terrorism would cease to exist. I think that is why they are so desperate to stop the Iraq thing from working out. If it does terrorism in the name of Islam will die. What do you think?

There are approximately 37 million Americans currently drawing social security benefits. In 13 short years, this number is expected to jump to 72 million.
Since its conception, social security has collected hundreds of billions of dollars above its payouts. Since the Carter administration, the social security trust fund has been raided to balance the federal budget. As a result, the money collected to pay future retirees has been squandered. Our government has done what it does best, create big problems for future generations.
None of the presidential candidates are addressing this looming problem, which will begin to surface in 2012.
Will the solution just be abolishing SS in 2012? Will the feds just keep collecting the money until the payouts are impossible to meet and just say sorry, you guys are screwed?
If SS is doomed to collapse, perhaps the fed should stop collecting the money now.
Any thoughts?

Yesterday the Democrats introduced a bill that would make it illegal for the US to take Iraq's oil, or to permanently station US troops in that country. How do you feel about that bill? Should Mr. Bush sign it, or should he veto it? Is this just a case of "showboating" or is it actually a good law?

I for one believe his heart is in the right direction. While I agree mistakes have been made, President Bush says things and does it. I believe he is a true dedicated leader. You know, we look back on Presidents such as Nixon, Carter, and Grant - and how people disagreed at the time with things they did. Now we look back and study what they've done and how those bad things contributed to the way we live today. I forsee no difference with Bush. A president heavely disliked and in who knows 50..100 years from now - will be looked back on through doing the right thing. Anyone else feel this way?
