Why haven't you made us victorious? You are the only ones who care, you are the only ones who can win. That is what you told us. That is why we elected you to a second term in 2004. You were the only ones in power for four years. You got all of the money you needed, and we were patient. Why haven't you won this war yet? And when are you going to? So far, congress has continued to fund your crusade against terrorism...even though they don't agree with your handling of it. What more do you need?

well they've taken out Saddam... wasn't that the main mission?
Oops no it's not... we now have to rebuild Iraq because we destroyed it. That's an awful lot of money for a toy that only Bush and his cabinet are really responsible for breaking.
Oh now the sects are killing each other... hmm let's organize an election and make them a democracy, even though we're not one ourselves.
Now supposedly Al Qaeda have come in and started interfering. What- Al Qaeda were responsible for 9/11? Ooh we have to stay and defeat them. After all, we're over there already, Congress can't do a thing because the President doesn't like to lose and is doing everything in his power to make sure he stays in power... he's now even started taking power away from the few who actually have a voice in this nation.
Al Qaeda is jealous of our freedom and we have to show them who's boss... after all, we're the greatest nation in the world. Who cares if our dollar is weakening by the minute? Hell, we'll just print up more money and give more to the oil companies and the corrupt nations we want to pretend we have peace with. We'll just hike up the price of gas to triple what it was before Bush took office, to make up for it. The national debt? Pffft... it's a drop in the bucket. We know the Dems will fix it next term.
There will always be an excuse to stay in Iraq. Dictator Bush will see to that.

It is very hard to win a war when the mission changes regularly.
Find and Destroy WMD's(and we knew exactly where they were, Rummy told us so) , then it was remove Saddam (and his happy fun bunch), then it was Building a Democracy (but, in Bush's campaign of 2000 he was so critical of the concept of Nation Building), then it was a counter insurgency, then it was to fight Al Qaeda (which by their own reports has grown stronger), next it will be to build a Haliburton Theme park or something.
The Republicans do not want to win in Iraq, they want an endless war to ensnare more power to the Executive Branch, this is about usurping the Constitution of the United States, not about fighting a war in Iraq.

Congress and the senate can end the war if they want to so why keep blaming the republicans for something that the democrats can stop at any time but didn't when they had a real easy chance and yet all the democrats running in the last election promised to bring home our troops soon. so when is soon 2009? I say we need to reinstate the draft and all democrats should be put on the draft list sent to iraq and end the war since you all have the answers to how to end this issue so end it well we're waiting. oh thats right you won't end it cause you don't know how. well as a republican I say this very simple cut all funding war ends wham bam thank you ma'am iraq over you had the opertunity and didn't take it so blame yourselves as well not just the republicans.

Nobody actually ever thought we were going to "win" a war on terrorism. We did win the war with Iraq, unfortunately we lost the occupation.

Sorry, America is fighting, not just Republicans. Is there a reason the Dems in the Senate vote with the President on every measure (Check Hillay's voting record)?
It too 10 years fo fighting, 6 by Europe, then four by the US, and 635,000 American lives to defeat Hitler and Japan.
I suggest you actually read what congress is doing, rather than making up B.S.
I did answer your question. It took 8 YEARS in Europe before the Decisive Invasion of Normandy in 1944! I don't know how long.
Sorry, let the Generals tell us that. Yikes!!! Just because you don't like or understand the answer, does not mean someone didn't answer it.

They have to have something to get people talking that doesn't involve REAL issues. They know that if they discuss the real issues like health care, environmental issues, veterans affairs, Social Security, etc. they would lose big time. It is sort of like changing the subject.
They can't even define "win" with respect to Iraq although they have been asked hundreds, if not thousands, of times.

I want victory right now. Everyone does. Even those that oppose the war and the troops, if victory happened tomorrow I fail to see how even they would not be relieved. Unfortunately, it's probably not going to happen, so I will stay along for the long haul.

I don't know about republicans, but I could go for immediate victory. That would require overwhelming and inhuman use of force, though, so I don't expect it.
Victory will take a long time (if it's even possible) because we are trying to keep a delicate balance between pacifying the Iraqis and radicalizing them.

It is hard to win a war when half the country refuses to be supportive which emboldens the enemy to hold on and in fact become more vicious knowing that the American people will eventually force a withdrawal which means a terrorist victory. Thank goodness you people werent influencial during WWII

Welcome back Hiche! I also thought you were suspended. I can't say I agree with more. What we need is someone with a better track record and more military experience as president. What we really need is..... Hillary Clinton or maybe even Barrack Hussein Obama. LMAO!
