Besides, 4000 thousand American lives and many times more that number of wounded as a reminder that the most sophisticated war machine in the world is not invincible.
Some food for thought.

Do you feel guilty for killing(or attempting to kill) others just for sake of your own life?

If yes, how guilty were you? Did it make you think again about what horrible things you are doing as a soldier?
If no, why not?

Be serious please.

Actual radio conversation of US naval ship off the coast of Newfoundland:
Canadians: Please divert your course 15 degrees to the South to avoid a collision.
Americans: Recommend you divert your course 15 degrees to the North to avoid a collision.
Canadians: NEGATIVE. You will have to divert your course 15 degrees to the South to avoid a collision.
Americans: This is the Captain of a US Navy ship. I say again, divert YOUR course.
Canadians: No. I say again, you divert YOUR course.
Americans: THIS IS THE AIRCRAFT CARRIER USS LINCOLN, THE SECOND LARGEST SHIP IN THE UNITED STATES' ATLANTIC FLEET. WE ARE ACCOMPANIED BY THREE DESTROYERS, THREE CRUISERS AND NUMEROUS SUPPORT VESSELS. I DEMAND THAT YOUR CHANGE YOUR COURSE 15 DEGREES NORTH. I SAY AGAIN, THAT'S ONE-FIVE DEGREES NORTH, OR COUNTERMEASURES WILL BE UNDERTAKEN TO ENSURE THE SAFETY OF THIS SHIP.
Canadians: This is a lighthouse. Your call.

Does anyone know why veteran's who have a disability rating and receive compensation are not getting an increase this year? After looking at the 2008 pay rates it seems that no one will be getting an increase in January like past years. Anyone know the details?

Just want to know what places you'd recomend living @near the base b.c. my spouse will hopefully get his hardship tour to sinai request approved. It's not a cultural or language issue for me b.c. my husband speaks arabic anyway (is egyptian) and is in the U.S. ARMY as a black hawk mechanic...he'll help find a place for me to be set up in w/ our kids, but I'd like to know if anyone who's not egyptian (i'm american) would recomend an area around there/things to do. His opinions of what are acceptable and nice differ from mine.

My top fav are Belisarius and Subotai.

Belisarius help recapture the Western Roman Empire for the Byzantines conquering much of North Africa and Italy from the Germanic tribes which defeated Rome. Especially the Vandals.

Subotai had more than 15 campaigns and was the major strategist for Jenghis (Genghis) Khan. He used Mongol Central Asian tactics to great effect against less mobile forces. He is most remembered for devising the battle plan that destroyed the armies of Hungary and Poland within 2 days of each other, by forces almost a thousand miles apart and realized the importance of Chinese techology especially siege machines.

I'm not gonna go into further detail but tell me who's your fav. military commander and back it up with details

I am five foot two and weigh 148 lbs. My waist is a 29.5 and hips are a 43. All the BMI calculaters and waist to hip ratios say i am healthy, but my recruiter says I am too fat to even take the arms test even though I can pass it. My BMI is a 27.1 according to online and hand done calculations and my waist to hip ratio is .67. My recruiter says my BMI is a 38. Is this possible? what can I do because I really want to join the military and this is the only thing stopping me.

I would like to join the Navy within the next few months, and pursue a career in computer technology. For this and other reasons, I would like to be stationed in Japan (where I intend to follow my career) so that I may learn more about it's cultures and pick up the language better before I decide to live there.

Is it possible for me to choose this path, or do they simply ship out whoever wherever with no discrepancies?

* As he allowed a 100 of his soldiers (in 10 groups of 10) to be dropped in snowy weather over different locations on the mountains (in freezing cold during the night a week ago), so to meet each other in a meeting point next morning at 0700hrs, (as a training session!!
* the result is already known, that some of those poor soldiers /officer would freeze to death & that what happened, as one officer of 24yrs age, was killed by the freezing cold.
* Turkish m ilitary said "soldier heart was stopped & he died as a reason!" WHAT A STUPID EXPLANATION!!!!
**That soldier was killed by subjecting him into that exteme weather that would kill one soldier atleast.
*** the soldiers has no adequate means or time to get warm, as they had to meet at a set time!!

Which would you rather have?
1 1,070,377 Affordable Housing Units or keeping the Shiites in power in Iraq?
2. 39,240,332 People with Health Care or keeping the Shiites in power in Iraq until the Sunni army that we are organizing and arming overthrows them about three days after we leave.
3. 22,714,282 Scholarships for University Students Or revealing the fact that Bush’s “mission accomplished” only applied to boost the value of Cheney’s stock options.
4. 58,681,896 Children with Health Care Or winning the truly desperate battle against creeping socialism.
5. 2,068,007 Port Container Inspectors or making sure that the Shiites or the Sunni armies don’t attack Albuquerque the first chance they get. .

Some people are opposed to XMAS versus Christmas. I think it is the thought that counts!! Don't you? Merry Christmas (XMAS) to all that see this! The multiservice GI's serving all over the world...this is for you!! AIR FORCE RULES..with cooperation of Army, Navy, Marines and the beloved Coast Guard. I have not forgotted the cadets in our military academies and those junior multiservice ROTC members who will someday step into the shoes of the current leadership! God Bless You All!!
