* As he allowed a 100 of his soldiers (in 10 groups of 10) to be dropped in snowy weather over different locations on the mountains (in freezing cold during the night a week ago), so to meet each other in a meeting point next morning at 0700hrs, (as a training session!!
* the result is already known, that some of those poor soldiers /officer would freeze to death & that what happened, as one officer of 24yrs age, was killed by the freezing cold.
* Turkish m ilitary said "soldier heart was stopped & he died as a reason!" WHAT A STUPID EXPLANATION!!!!
**That soldier was killed by subjecting him into that exteme weather that would kill one soldier atleast.
*** the soldiers has no adequate means or time to get warm, as they had to meet at a set time!!

Your question is more of a rant:

First, May the young officer Rest In Peace, he died in the service of his country., and sympathy to his family.

Are you in the military?

Have you ever made this type of training??

What are the statistics of losses in the Turkish Military for these type of winter training accidents by year, say going back 15 - 20 years??

It is NOT uncommon to have fatalities in training exercises like this.

For all we know the young officer may have had a medical problem, a weak heart, or was not able to take the cold, but 99% of the group managed to perform the task as set out.

If normal investigative procedure is carried out there will be a Court of Inquiry, the type of weather during the exercise will be will be looked into, the troops equipment, the training methods etc... etc .. and then if there is any evidence of any wrong doing a decision will be taken to see if any one should face a Court Martial.
