Who cares what YOU think!
Do you think that YOU can influence the thinking of the Nations Leaders.?
How will it look to the world to see the great country, the U.S.A., pack up and run for home like a dog with its tail between its legs?
What a great Propaganda exercise for Americas Enemies!!
For Terry P:
Vietnam was a loss, caused by American Politicians interference in the war.
Korea was a UN war the USA were never in charge and it became a draw and the US is still in Korea.
Somalia was not a war but a UN policing action, where the US Military was constrained by the Rules of engagement, if anything Iraq might go the same way.

I 1/2 agree with you. Stop foreign aid, yes. Or at least use what we have. If the price of oil goes up to $100 a barrel, so does a loaf of bread. If a country refuses to, for example, allow our troops to pass through, all tourism and travel is suspended until further notice. If a rogue nation tries to get nukes, nothing to them. Not one cent or crumb. Lets see if they are willing to be more reasonable after a winter of eating their house pets. As for our armed forces, in many parts of the world they are all that stands between peace and WW3. They cannot all be removed. Like Korea, Eastern Europe, Germany, etc...

The same way it looked when the usa cut and ran from vietnam, somalia, korea and all the other places it messed up in, lets face it, the usa is NOT so great, they make many mistakes and don't learn anything by them!

Me too. The troops we have stationed around the world is actually detrimental to our national security. It incites guerilla style terrorist attacks against us, takes away from the ability to secure our own borders which over 150,000 non southern /centrl americans including from the middle east come each year. On 9-11 we had only 14 fighters available for our airdefense.
Not only that but the Verailles treaty and the Aftermath of World War 2 are also fueling the Current War in the Middle East.

We tried that before World War 1 and again after World War 1, which led to many of the problems that caused World War 2.
No country in the world today can isolate itself from the rest of the world.
There are lots of problems with our policies, but withdrawing is not the solution.

This didn't work 100 years ago and it will be even less of an effective way of dealing with neighbors now than it was then. With communication and travel methods always improving and becoming cheaper a person on the other side of the globe is closer today than someone on the east coast was from the west coast 100 years ago.
In one day you can get nearly anywhere on the planet. So keeping open communication is a good thing. Hiding in your own house is a cowards way of dealing with neighbors you don't understand.

what would this solve? nothing it is a bad idea to isolate ourselves from the rest of the world it would lead to the US growing less powerful and poorer economically.
