This question is for both reserve and active. I've heard that it is possible to have an age waiver for up to 35 for reserve, but not for pilots.

I am in army JROTC and i am the battalion commander. i am trying to enfore a regulation where the ROTC room be called to attention when a cadet officer or armed forces member enters the room. although, when someone called "attention on deck" my AI says that it is incorrect since the army doesn't use "deck" i was wondering what is the command to call a room to attention and any more info on this procedure. thanks

My friend claims that he is in the reserves but because of his tatoos he has gotten since discharged it makes him ineligible to serve on active duty and says he has to join the army to enlist in active duty. Is this a viable story?

i just read an article pertaining to the US military being perceived as "democratic" via propaganda during WWII (it referenced a film 'sergeant york'--which i have not seen)...but we all know the US military is not democratic, even in those years that had to be known. so was the propoganda trying to show that American military was "democratic" compared to Naziism/Communism/Facism? is it even possible for a country to remain democratic while fighting a modern war? or was propaganda used to "put to rest" anxiety of the military's place in a democracy?

i cant find a link to the original article, but it was titled "this is the army: imagining a democratic military in WWII" written by Benjamin Alpers...

Can you explain why Canada did not participate to her *full* capacity in sending 26 000 troops to Korean during the Korean war.

and if you can, can you provide a rebuttle of Canada's efforts because she put alot of effort because the force size to population size is one of the largest.

I'm a 13 year old and I really want to join the army and get away from home, but I'm not only underage, but women aren't allowed in combat, are they? I really want to do that though, and really nothing else. are there any loopholes? All I know is that you have to be 18 or 17 with parent signature to join. blah.

I know it may seem odd to ask but I was wondering:
1. Does the U.S. still draft people?
2. If so what age is it when they usually draft them?
3. If a relative dies how long does it take for the family to know they are dead?
4. If a person is at an age for drafiting do they have to go?
5. Even if a person is at an age for drafting is there a way not to (get drafted)?
6. If you have a friend that won't be the way he was anymore becuase he thinks his relative is dead because he hasn't heard from them in a while and worries about being drafted himself what should you do?

STORIES ABOUT spat-upon Vietnam veterans are like mercury: Smash one and six more appear. It's hard to say where they come from. I found nothing. No news reports or even claims that someone was being spat on.

What I did find is that around 1980, scores of Vietnam-generation men were saying they were greeted by splitters when they came home from Vietnam. There is an element of urban legend in the stories in that their point of origin in time and place is obscure, and, yet, they have very similar details. The story told by the man who spat on Jane Fonda at a book signing in Kansas City recently is typical. Michael Smith said he came back through *Los Angeles* airport where ''people were lined up to spit on us."

Like many stories of the spat-upon veteran genre, Smith lacks credulity. GIs landed at military airbases, not civilian airports, and protesters could not have gotten onto the bases and anywhere near deplaning troops. Why did the Veterans make up these stories?
