He gets paid twice a month and on the LES under entitlements it lists his base bay, BAS, and BAH. But under allotments it says mid-month pay.

My work says they need my first dd-214 when I reenlisted in 1971, but I don't remember getting one. I would think you only get one when you are discharged.

ok... i have to do a major project on gettysburg ... and i was wondering if anyone knew any really specific factual information because i am completely lost. Also if you know of any websites that would be very helpful. It is pretty much the broad topic of the whole battle and all the strategies and who won and the problems and what the battle was about... all of it pretty much.

You generally have to wait two years after being off medication before you can enlist. How can they prove you have taken it in the past two years unless they subpoena your medical records. Couldn't you say your mother filled it but you didn't take it?

My daughter's friend wants to join and I have informed him of this requirement but he said he hasn't taken his medication for his entire senior year and most of his junior year even though his mother got the prescription filled twice in case he wanted to go back on it.

I'd prefer an answer from a recruiter or someone with experience and please do not leave comments about ADHD being fake, etc. because I'm not here to debate it. This kid's mother is a friend of mine as well and doesn't have a computer unfortunately. Her son is graduating i June and planning on joining right away.

I remember when I was enlisted; my fellow Soldiers would love to play practical jokes on the newest and/or most gullible member of the team. They would send him to supply to pick up a box of Grid Squares for the Land Navigation Training. Or while in the motor pool, they would have him check the brakes of a vehicle by trying to push it while someone sat in the vehicle applying the brake, and then they would send him to the chief mechanic looking for Blinker Fluid or Muffler Bearings.

When I became an officer I found out my fellow Lieutenants could be just as cruel and more in-depth with some of there jokes. Usually these revolved around some made up regulation or SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) that was “common knowledge” to everybody else.

These are just a few scenarios, have you heard of any others? I have never been able to keep a straight face to pull off any jokes. And I have been on the receiving end of some attempted jokes too. Please share.

I just bought a foreclosure (built in 1962) the original owner built this underground bomb shelter, and the city is giving me a hard time about it, because they have no codes or regulations on them.They want me to abandon it, and i want to use it as a storage area, its structurally sound , i had a engineer evaluate it. Can i fight the city about this?Any good advice would be appreciated.

My hubby and I were having a discussion about this, and thought that you can not change a president during a time of war. We are still in war, as we are losing more soldiers now than when we first went into Iraq. I also don't see Bush bringing our men home anytime soon.
So my question is: Can a new president be instated during a time of war?
I know most canidates are using the "First thing I'll do is bring home our soldiers" So... can they even switch presidents now?
