What a stupid question. The US is the most benevolent super power that has ever been seen in the history of the world.

The last time the US took any land from any country during a war was the PHILLIPINES from the Spanish during the Spanish American War.

What the USA has done since then is try to establish stable democracies of self ruling countries it has defeated in wars. It has offered billions of it's dollars to help in rebuilding those countries. It has offered protection to those countries from their aggressive neighbors. It has promoted individual liberties, democratic rule and free trade. Few other countries can say the same.

To suggest that the USA would "ABSORB" Iraq denotes your ignorance of the USA PEOPLE and the Wonderful history of the USA.

Yes it could. The US if it really wanted to crush the insurgency could integrate 50 million people from two states more than 4000 miles away into the American Union.
