I am just surprised to see in US medias headlined " Chinese troops are not welcomed in Darfur " even though it was sent there under an UN mandate and did not condemn armed rebels issuing the threats to kill chinese UN troops. I understood there has been chinese bashings in US medias for a long time , but in this case , the US medias highlighting / headlining chinese troops are not welcomed seemed misleading the general publics the real issue of threats against UN peacekeepers.

Yes. Any armed element that is not sponsored and controlled by the state, and achieves its objective by threatening to disrupts a society's way of life should be considered a terrorist.

The designation of "The War on Terror" is an unfortunate exaggeration. You can't fight an attitude designed to incite an emotion. When children dress up in frightening costumes on Halloween, that's terrorism. The ownership of a gun and advertising of that fact is an act designed to frighten; that's terrorism. You can't fight an evil intent. You have to have something concrete to wage war against.
Definitely the gangs who do acts of aggression should be opposed but there is no such thing as a "war on terror," terror is an emotion. You have to fight what actually causes that emotion like Having arms to inflict bodily harm. And that is a huge problem.

no, because terrorists have the intent of harming a specific group. military situations are very different from acts of terrorism. for example, in wwii, germans went to france and looted, pillaged, and burned down villages. it was not an act of terrorism, but an act of war.
also, in this post 9/11 world, the U.S. throws around the term a lot, distorting its meaning. a terrorist is basically anyone who uses terror tactics as a means to achieving a political end. you can't just label everyone a terrorist, but the U.S. has created this term to generate a culture of fear in among the American people

Are these "peacekeepers" armed or not. If they arent then yes, if they are armed, I cant tell you.
