If we all wear red on Fridays, it would be no less than we do for a sports team.
We wear something green on St Patricks' Day don't we?
What stops us from all wearing red on Fridays?

I GUESS I proved a point here. So many responded saying WHY WEAR RED?
I put the question under "Military" because it is to show you CARE about the suffering sacrifice of our military, in the war on terror.
Red is NOT pro war, but shows support for our friends and familt members who risk death, injury, crippling and disfigurement, far away from their beloved family and country.
Some of you knew that. Why only some? This should not be an underground activity. It should be every citizen's desire to support the troops.
They are our "watchmen on the wall", preserving our freedom to pursue happiness.
I do not like the war, but I love the troops!

Do you realize that Friday is Dec 7th, "a day that will live in infamy". On that day the terror of Japanese pilots targeting Hawaii's peaceful Pear Harbour by honing in on the music playing on a Honolulu radio station (un-expected like 9-11) when a neutral America was at peace!!!

I am very Happy and Proud to wear "RED" On Fridays. As We Are in The Four-year Anniversary Of The War In IRAQ, Our Nation is again reminded of the tremendous sacrifices endured to ensure America's freedom. There Is no words to Express My gratitude. And for that I will WEAR RED EACH FRIDAY To Thank Our Military and all Veterans To SHow I care about You. I care about Our freedom that you have fought so Hard for! > I THANK YOU! < I thank You For our Freedom that would never be Possible without You.!
Yes, I will Proudly wear RED On Fridays For my Dear American Hero.!! "Such a Little Thing to ask."

This is not that popular as of yet. It is supposed to be showing support for the Troops regardless of what you think of the war. Canada also has Red Friday as do certain groups that are both for and against the war in Iraq.
The American heart association also has its Red Friday.
Me; I show support of the troops every day by raising my flag, in my prayers, and in my heart.

I am not into customs of men and all of that, but I am about the truths of God. And God calls us to support our miitary, even those who oppose the war, they are there fighting for our freedoms, and we must honor them and pray for them.
Wearing red is a good thing, as it is a reminder to pray for our troops. Red also represents the shed blood of Jesus Christ, so lets pray them victory in Christ to not only stay belonging to God in all they are going thru, but to remember to turn to Him and obey Him. LEt us pray them safety as well and peace in the midst of dark circumstances, and every person on this earth, should shake their hand when they come home and thank them. If not for the soldiers of war, we would have no peace of freedom.
So lets honor our men/women in the military by praying the shed blood of Jesus over them, and remember it is why we wear RED.
and to Mscool , what what a beautiful message on your grattitude campagin, I am so blessed, and I do know sign, and now I know they know, I will use it even more, BUt I always thank every soldier, no matter the branch when I meet one to say thank you, especially so to the vietnam soldiers who were treated so poorly after they got home.
There they were fighting for us, and were spit on when they got home. Blasphemy ppl. Blasphemy. Noone likes war, but God called ppl to war often, and its for purpose to overcome those who will take our freedoms away, espeiclaly taking our rights away to worship the God we choose to serve, who is the only true God, in the Holy Bible. If we dont fight for our freedom, we will be forced to be muslim. Then how will we like it?

I just don't think it's as well known yet. I try to wear red if I remember, and sometimes I'll mention the reason to an acquaintance. But most of the time, they've never heard of Red Fridays.

My brother is a Marine and his mom wears red EVERY Friday.
A lot of USMC "support" groups participate.
It is mainly just to show support for the troops.
I am not sure, but I do think that it is mainly for Marines, considering that the Marine Flag is red.

I am not sure what it is for. If I agree, I might wear red. But, after going to a HS reunion recently, we have discovered that very few of us in my class actually *like* the color red, & we found out it was because we were forced to wear red gym suits for 6 years! (we took gym in 7th & 8th too)
If I have one red shirt, I will have to look for it to wear it!!

I try to wear a red shirt on Fridays, if I have one. I agree with you, people do it for St. Patty's day, why not for our country?

We need to make others more aware of why we are wearing red. That is the purpose. Let's all try it.
