I'm going to enlist in the Navy, but with DEP until May.
My question is, when does our pay begin???

Day one of boot camp. DEP is not a job just a holding period until you ship out for boot camp. And your first actual paycheck about 4 to 6 weeks after that minus the cost of your uniforms.

Your pay begins the day you report for active duty.
Your enlistment in the DEP is a USNR enlistment for 8 years. When you report for active duty, you will be discharged from DEP and enlist in the USN. If you do less than 8 years total DEP and active duty, you won't be discharged...you will be released from active duty and transferred to the USNR (nondrilling, just like DEP) until the 8th anniversary of your DEP date.
With all due respect to the Navy veteran above, PBED is not affected by DEP and hasn't been since 1 JAN 1985. Your paydate will be the date you report for active duty, and will be the date from which your future longevity raises (over 2, over 3, etc) are calculated.

Pay accrues the day you ship to Boot Camp, not before. DEP only counts for your IRR time, nothing else.

The day you go to boot camp is when your pay starts.
However,the day you entered DEP is the Pay Entry Base Date. So on the anniversary of your DEP is when they base your time in service. i.e. You enter DEP on November 15th 2007but leave for basic the following May 10th 2008. On November 15th 2008 you will have one year in for pay purposes only.

In boot camp, not in DEP, the amount of time you spend in DEP takes off your inactive time

Damn.. i wish we got paid in DEP. :[ Anyways, Yeh, it won't start until the day you ship out to Boot. And the time you spend in DEP (me, just a year) will take off of your contract time.

Nope. you're able to put in it sluggish in the previous you get any reward. DEPpers are all a raffle, as a definite proportion of them never seem to deliver out. the army has a college first application which will supply out a small stipend consistent with month. possibly would not hide instructions, anyhow.
