AF Basic is currently 6 and a half weeks. Your husband will leave on a Tuesday and that first week is "Zero week". They process paperwork, are issued uniforms and such. The next six weeks are the training portion. He will graduate on a Friday and leave for Tech school the following Monday.

Air Force BMT is 6 & 1/2 weeks. The first 1/2 week is considered "Zero Week", mainly doing in-processing, shots, clothing issue, etc.
It is planned to go to eight weeks October of next year, however, they have been putting that off for about two years now.

It's six and a half weeks. Most arrive on a Tuesday, graduate on a Friday, and leave for Tech School on the Monday after Graduation Friday.
Me for example:
Got there April 17th, Graduated June 1st, Left for Tech School June 4th.
It's not 8 weeks yet, and won't be 'til next year, if they even do it.
Two more weeks means a need for more MTI's, and they don't have enough right now.

It is six weeks, or exactly 30 days of training. Weekend and holidays dont count, even though you will still be marching and doing training on those days also. If there are any federal holidays while you are in BMT, it will be a day or two longer than six weeks.
You will usually arrive at Lackland on a Thurs or Fri. Your training will start on Monday morning, week 1, day 1.
Day 30 will be your graduation day. The next morning you will leave for your tech school.
