Instead of sending American soldiers to their deaths, and spending all this money, couldn't we have just bought Iraq?

I am an African American female who is considering joining the navy. I am not at all vain but I know that if I wear my hair down for several months in addition to regular swimming it will fall out and not grow back. I have several bald or balding female relatives as evidence. I want to know if you can wear hair braids (extensions) at boot camp if they are regulation length. Really want to join the navy. Think it is the best branch no offense to the others but I do not want to make myself bald for it.

If the U.S hadn't won the Revolutionary War, Civil War , World War 1&2 this question wouldnt even be able to be posted. Simple as that. Life as you know it now would be much much different.

my uniform was a mess! all wrinkled up. this first lieutenant approached me and told me if i dont go down below and square my uniform away he would report me. my question is, if he would have reported me or wrote me up, what would be the punishment i would have probably received?

My great-grandfather was a "frog-man" in WWI, and survived. Mom told me that they are basically the early Navy seals, which is really, really cool. He told me the story when I was ten, but I don't remember it. Do you have any more facts about Nazy Seals? Thanks!!

according to a lot of people replied to Yahoo answer , it gave me the impression that just because america always managed to kill more enemies than losing its own , based on that calculation , america has never lost in a war . do you agree with this assumption? For example , america lost 50,000 soldiers but killed 3m vietnamese , so america won the vietnam war !!! does this make sense to you ???

Does one have to first enlist then proceed to OCS? If one does not get into OCS will they be force to stay on as an enlistee? Is there an opportunity to go directly to OCS or similar?

Ive been saying this for years, saying the lives of our troops have been wasted, thrown away for a nothing war. Yet I get shot down in flames on here when I say it.

I hope those of you who condemn me for saying these words, also condemn McCain for using them as well.

The reality is people we have to stop burying our head in the sand and pretending that just because they are dying over there we should kid ourselves its for a worthy cause.

I would rather our troops were alive and back over here, than dead fighting to control a bunch of squabbling Iraqis.

is it alright to say that they did nothin wrong because they followed hitlers orders
now the other part of my question if not why is it alright for america or the american army to get of the hook while killing innocent civilians in iraq now some are not doing it deliberatly while other are to doing it while attempting trying to secure an area just after bombs have gone of killing anything that moves i mean anything

I've been having serious mental and emotional problems since I've returned from my 13 month tour in Iraq. I don't know what direction to go without spreading my personal business all up and down the chain of command in my reserve unit. I'm also afraid that if I share what my problems are they might send me somewhere that might interfere with my civilian job. What should I do?
