Largest Army Bases in the United States at this time is Fort Hood, TX (1st Cav Division and 3rd ACR). The next are Fort Carson, CO (4th Inf Division), Fort Campbell, KY (101st Air Assault), Fort Bragg, NC (82nd Airborne and SF); Fort Lewis, WA (1 Brigade (approx 3500) of the 2nd Division and 1 Brigade of the 25th Division plus 1 Ranger and 1 SF Battalion); Fort Riley, KS (1st Infantry Division); Fort Drum, NY (10th Mountain Division) and soon Fort Bliss, TX (1st Armored Division).

The new Brigade Combat Teams 4 per division are organized with approximately 2 Battalions of approximately 600 each with both Armor and Infantry.

It depends on your list of preferences. You could go just about anywhere, honestly. My husband got sent to Fort Lewis as his first duty station. His second (which we're on now) is Germany. He's not infantry, though the unit he got put with is. Like I said, it all just depends. I don't think anyone could really tell you where a person would get stationed straight out of basic.
We get lots of soldiers who are fresh out of basic, but there are a lot more that DON'T get sent here.
