Does one have to first enlist then proceed to OCS? If one does not get into OCS will they be force to stay on as an enlistee? Is there an opportunity to go directly to OCS or similar?

The Navy uses seperate recruiters for Officers and Enlisted. If you are not picked up for OCS, you will not be obligated to serve your time as an enlisted servicemember.

Contact an officer recruiter, not an enlisted recruiter. If accepted you will be sent directly to OCS.

If you enlist as a non officer there are opportunities for OCS, but the odds are highly stacked against you.

Talk to an officer recruited, not an enlisted recruiter. They will answer all of your questions correctly for what is required right now by the Navy. Requirement and programs change monthly. An enlisted recruiter doesn't know anything about officer recruiting, but will try their best to get you just in enlist in the enlisted Navy.
