My goodness..."everything they wore and carried with them" ? That would take dozens of websites, not just one.
There are many books that can give you some idea of US uniforms and equipment in the Second World War, but I don't know of a single website that would give all the details.
Remember: You are talking about a period of time from roughly 1940 to 1945 or later. The uniforms of soldiers, sailors, marines and airmen changed several times during those years, as different uniforms were approved for different climates and different uses (from winter parkas and boots in mountain troops to tropical gear in the jungle or light clothes in the desert areas. )Also, soldiers and sailors added more gear of a different sort depending on their specific duty, carrying special equipment in amphibious landings, or long-range reconnaisance, as opposed to uniforms for formal parade and office duty, or KP .
Remember that as the Second World War began, troops were essentially equipped with older World War One equipment, uniforms and weapons, helmets and gear. After the mobilization of the days after December 7, 1941, they quickly changed to different gear depending on the needs of different theaters of war and climates. They changed their Springfield bolt-action rifles for the M-1 Garand and carbine, and their bayonets from one form to another for jungle warfare.
