Opening a discussion here. I honestly think that because Hitler like to play general, he is the reason they lost. So, do you think they could have won if he had been assasinated and replaced?
(maybe by Rommel?)

Alumni search for 1945 class Lincoln Hi School, Seattle, he didn't graduate, enlisted in Navy Air and died in plane crash off of FL, probably 1944. With street address and b & d date could search military records for more info. Thanks!

Do they still use potatos as replacements for grenades in basic training? Or did they ever?

I'm considering selecting that as my MOS. I'm very confidant I will score well enough on anything they give me to do anything I want, but am considering CHOOSING to be an infantryman if only so I can respect myself for something. I'm seventeen years old and have many goals in life that I want to start pursuing as soon as I'm out of high school, including higher education. I also want to serve my country. I accept that I may be deployed to fight, but I do not want to spend three or four years doing so- I have degrees to be earning. What I want to know is A) how will I this play into my 'civilian' life and what will it be like being an Infantryman? Thank you.

Looking at videos of BUD/s, i see the guys in phase one and 2 and 3 just get whooped physically, but where and when do smarts come in play?

I know my husband has classes he can attend, and he plans to, but I need to know what I can do, what bills I can expect to pay and how much (living in basehousing). Also anyone from Albuqurque,NM let me know what the cost of living is like. Any help that you can offer is great!

This is a likely scenario and could happen as early as 2009. If the U.S. is tied up in other conflicts. I think we should not get involved but if we are not we should take NATO action against China. It would be like NATO vs. Warsaw Pact. I know my opinion but I want to know yours

I was watching SHOOTOUT! on the history channel about 3 months ago. They were talking about Lima company in Iraq and the valient things they have done since deployment. On one occasion, a sniper pinned down a squad on a roof top. The sniper was too accurate to risk loading a LAW launcher and exposing an elbow so one guy loads his grenade launcher, sits up, and fires at the sniper, 300 yards away, and takes him out. As a football player, I know how much 100 yards is, mutliply that by 3 and it's still not that big, as far as weapons go, yet they made it sound like Wild Bill making a shot from 500 feet with his pistol. So what IS the average distance of an M-16 mounted grenade launcher?

I'm 24 years old. I dropped out of college a few years ago and my poor GPA won't allow me to re-enter. I've been looking into enlisting in the Navy as an option since I know my job prospects in the civilian world aren't that hot. Is it a bad idea to join the military just because I need a job? I know it would be a 6 to 8 year deal, and I know it won't be easy, but I'm willing to commit myself. It want the challenge and I think it's something I could be proud of doing.

Many Veterans cannot buy health insurance due to age or medical conditions. Many of these veterans cannot gain access to VA healthcare because they have a living income. This leads to a higher mortality rate.

So archers all over the world had problems defending themself during close quarter combat because they had to put down their bow and draw thier sword (if they had one). My idea is why not attach a blade to the end of the bow, making it a spear. Has anybody ever done this in history? Tell me what you think.

I hope to join the military after I get out of high school and I have been interested in joining either the Marines or Navy all my life. I don't want to be just an everyday grunt or sailor, though. I figure if I'm going to join I might as join one of the more elite squads. Which brings me to my point. Should I join either the USMC Recon (my uncle was in this) or become a Navy EOD (explosive ordanance disposal). These are the two specialties I'm really looking into. Thanks.
