Does anyone know much about submarines? I am a writer and i had a crazzy idea for a way China could actually be a threat to Asia and the US.

throuhg a Russian group, a stealth torpedo so quiet Sonar as we know it now can not even trace it being launched.

In the story as a conflict in Asia put on by China but looking to be between Pakistan and India esculates, the US throws a large naval force into the area only to be ambushed by the subs who launch the stealth torpedo.

The navy, trying to recover from the deadly blow to a large portion of our naval strike force (carriers and such) must try to find a way to find the torpedoes.

My question is, is it possible to make a torpedo so quiet a sonar would have next to no chance tracking it?

in Afganistan is NOT all about the humanitarion mission, etc. Yes, Canada is know for peace keepers, etc. But in Afganistan our soldiers are the front line troops engaging the Taliban as much if not more than every one else.

While we only have a few thousand soldiers we are one of the smaller continegents there. But for some reason our soldiers are fighting more. Just because other countries have more men there does not mean they are fighting more.

Your American media does not report these things to you. Our Canadian Prime Minister is under fire from opposition parties for allowing our Canadian troops to be on the front lines like this.

The American public just does not get told that these brave men are fighting so bravely. There is nothing humanitarian about us killing Taliban!

I just saw this video that showed some of our troops abusing a defenseless dog. Are their laws in the military to prevent this? Do you think he video is real? It made me sick to watch it.

...in order to win the war in Iraq. Is it for Iraq to be stabilized? For the insurgents to stop coming into Iraq? What are we trying to do there? What constitutes winning the war in Iraq? The second part of the question would be, can we reach those goals?

bravely fighting in Afganistan? I know feathers were ruffled when Canada did not commit to the Iraq war, but we are still fighting in Afganistan. The NORAD pact between our countries states that if either Canada or the USA are attacked our militaries would both respond as one.
Canada went to Afganistan to fight the Taliban and hunt Osama with the US. The Canadian army is still there now and handling most of the fighting in order to help the US put more troops in Iraq.

I was just wondering if the American public realizes the Canadian army is leading the war in Afganistan and still bravely fighting to defend the honour of our American neighbors over 911. It is a well known fact that the Canadian Army is engaging the enemy more than the other countries put together.

Not totally trying to toot our horn here, but I don't think the US media tells Americans what we are doing for them.

It's hard to put in a question but basically, since we've not yet completed our "campaign" in Iraq and people are already thinking of pulling out...haven't we invested so much in this wa?...wouldn't it be bad to pull out now? Could you answer in a way that connects to the financial losses? Thank you

I've sent letters and packages to a former student of mine in Bagdad, but his package I sent in October, just came back to me this week. It appears to have gone to Iraq and back to Texas, where he was previously stationed, before returning to Indiana to me.

Ok, i've seen many people who regret joining a service branch and are rotten to the core about it, then again i see many people who are very happy about what they did, some liked it right away, some hated it but realized how good it actually was. My question is do you thing the ones who cheat the system by claiming back pains (falsely) etc are not giving their full effort or are they in their senses? Did you regret it at first but came to like it as well afterwards?

A troop surge has happened 3 times since we started the war in Iraq. With each surge came more violence. How is adding 21,000 more troops going to fix it this time?

Isn't it likely that the violence will get worse like it has done in the past? Then what happens?

IN saving private ryan Upham was a coward for the whole movie. He saves a German soldier which leads one of his own comrades dead when he refused to do anything.

In return the German soldier Spared his life.

ANyway when he got the balls the German soldier said upham in a bad manner and upham shot him.

Now what the german soldier did in that room wasn't evil. He was doing his duty like uphman should have been doing his.

Was upham justified in shooting that German soldiers?

Military veternas are welcome to reply.
