A troop surge has happened 3 times since we started the war in Iraq. With each surge came more violence. How is adding 21,000 more troops going to fix it this time?

Isn't it likely that the violence will get worse like it has done in the past? Then what happens?

Okay---
How will adding troops work FOR the situation in Iraq ??

The situation in Iraq happens to be one of utter chaos and blood--
It is THIS generation's Vietnam---same damned thing---- a slow and steady escalation of our involvement with a continued resolution that with each build up it was going to somehow shorten or hasten the end of it all----when in fact all that happened was that the enemy simply sent in more people and the thing got larger and larger and drew down more and more on resources and lives !!! And, all of this was predicted BEFORE WE WENT IN by the experts---and Junior decided (he IS--- THE DECIDER) to ignore the expert advice ---so here we are !!

The addition of these people will work FOR the situation by adding TO the situation----simply put---and addition TO the chaos and blood !!! There was no real plan going in-- for peace--and there is no plan NOW for peace----just war----

We have been told time and again -- WHEN--- first it was WHEN the Iraqi's elected a government----then we were told--- WHEN the Iraqi's has a military and police force in place---then we were told WHEN the situation was brought to some order ---NOW -- we are being told WHEN we get enough people in place----the rules of WHEN just keep changing and no end is even hinted at now because there is no end to hint at !!!!

This fictional Iraqi military will NEVER BE-----there are NO Iraqi's in the country free of factional involvement that are independant enough OF the factional fighting NOT to have alignments that make them PART of the PROBLEM --- and there are but VERY FEW Iraqi's that are not heavily leaned toward one "group" or the other in that country----So---you do not have a BASE of military there centered around a UNIFIED country---that's why NONE of them are willing to stand and FIGHT FOR IT !!!

But, once again Junior was told that this would be the case---and chose to ignore the facts----as he is continuing to ignore the fact that this is progressing now into an all out REGIONAL THING and VERY SOON this country is going to be involved in a MAJOR REGIONAL CONFLICT THAT MAKES WHAT WE ARE INTO NOW LOOK LIKE A SUNDAY PICNIC ---

Under the radar here with a lot of the American public---there IS A MAJOR BUILD UP HAPPENING ACROSS THE BOARDS IN THE ENTIRE REGION AS I SPEAK--- U S warships are posting into the Gulf and this "new" additon of people "on the ground" is just a cover to the all out build up in the REGION that has a lot of experts hinting of a planned THING with IRAN very soon !!!!

SO, to finalize here---these troops work for the situation because they are the latest in the planned escalation of this conflict to include THE REGION which means IRAN---and the public might as well get prepared for it ---because the DECIDER has spoken and GOD knows HE IS -------THE UNITED STATES !!!!

Will it work? One can only hope. The troops are a big poker chip in the game, a raise. The pot? It's about oil, more precisely, the revenue from oil. Does the US need the oil? We do. Do we need the revenue from the oil? No. Who, then, so desperately wants the revenue? The supporters of the terrorists. Why? To support more terrorism. Where? All over the world, anywhere that does not accept and adhere to their beliefs. Will the violence get worse? Probably. For awhile at least. What happens next? The US will foment a democracy in Irag that takes hold, where the citizens of the country will no longer tolerate violence and meddling of non-Iraqis. Or, Armageddon, and the free world will face off with whomever sides with the wreakers of havoc. Because if the insurgents get nuclear weapons for their financial providers via the oil revenues...well, you asked an intelligent question, you take it from here.

The Iraqi people are apathetic. My brother was in Iraq several times training Iraqi police. There are some that are truly wanting to get their country on the right track. But the majority are apathetic. They have lived under Saddam so long they just blow every which way the wind blows just to survive.

US troops have a big problem getting the Iraqi people to stand up and defend themselves truly. Many signing up today are not working with our troops, on joint patrols they often will accidentally discharge their weapons, alerting insurgents to where they are. There is no consequences for this behavior even though it endangers the lives of our servicemen. The Iraqi's are in charge of their police discipline.

Our service members are caught up in rules and red tape, instead of giving them the support they need to get the job done. Often when they go to search a place for insurgents people are seen running out the back door, they can't shoot them, not even to wound them. So the insurgents escape over and over again.

No amount of troops is going to fix the problem, the Iraqi people must take control of their own country, we can't do it for them forever. You can't make a people get over their apathy.

It's also why our own borders are being over run, too many rules to protect those who wish to break the laws, yet not enough protection for those who put their lives on the line.

properly, easily, no that is not. there's no the position close to adequate troops in our usa to be in a position to achieve success in Iraq. we want to diminish our losses and are available living house earlier we lose a lot more effective than what we've already got. Do you imagine Bush might want to help the conflict if his twin daughters were despatched to the front lines. The conflict might want to be over in the present day and the troops might want to be on the way living house. yet another option to the conflict is to tug a international conflict 2 and drop a bomb on the SOB's and make confident they could penetrate mountains and caves so as that we may be able to locate bin weighted down and produce him to justice. the following is a frustrating question, how frustrating is it to locate a 7 foot tall guy it truly is on dyalisis? it truly is somewhat frustrating. do not you imagine? Merry Christmas, satisfied vacations, satisfied Haunikah, ... *my 5 hundredth factor*

I think the thing about this is. The American media makes everyone thinks the same way. If you hate George Bush you probably watch the news at least once a week. Most news stations rip on George Bush. People in America don't realize even why they hate him. They don't know squat about our president. George Bush has done many good things in our country and people only recognize the bad!

I think that Bush has decided that the only possible course of action is to continue wearing down our armed forces, interfering with other countries' affairs, and depleting the American economy. This plan, like his other ones, will not work.

It is supposed to give more American troops to train the Iraq Army but it seems the more we do over there, the less the Iraqui troops do to help themselves. I think we should get out and let them fend for themselves. We are still losing more good men while Iraqui is setting on their asses doing nothing. I think it is time they fight their own war.

Are you implying that the best way to fight crime in the cities is to reduce the number of police?

Do you think we could sell that to the local police commissioners? If we can, it will save us a lot of money on salaries and retirements.
