You sound like you may be a victim of what some refer to as the "Liberal Democrats willing accomplices in the media"

What is going on in Iraq has nothing to do with oil. The media sources that have successfully brainwashed you into believing that have done their job.

Don't believe what 'they' tell you on TV. Don't believe what 'they' tell you in other media such as newspapers, magazines, and other standard media outlets. Search out alternative media sources, talk radio, Fox News, and internet sources like the Drudge Report. Mainstream news outlets have an agenda which is becoming more and more transparent.

The bright spot is that you do see the US led coalition is building schools, hospitals, road, and the like.

Congrats to you; you've taken the first step into a larger world!

We are building schools in Iraq!We are also fighting a war against illegal immigrants that cost us millions each year yet the state governments cant answer the call, they blame it all on the federal, govt Do you have any idea how much we pay for illegals in welfare and social security benefits? trust me the amount would scare you, the best thing we can do here is plug up the borders and save the money for us. How much of that money could go to Detroit and new Orleans?

Do you know the word "propaganda"?. The building of schools, hospitals, and roads is all propaganda. But regardless of the means employed by the U.S. to gain support for the war, it is still an illegitimate war. It is naked aggression, plain and simple.

Having said that, Saddam Hussein had also built schools, hospitals, and roads. What would you say to that?.

There are many poor nations in Africa needing food, shelter, schools, hospitals, etc.. Why didn't the U.S. help them?. These nations are far poorer and more needy than Iraq. Why don't help them first?. Is it because they don't have any OIL?.

so... they aren't guarding oilfeilds?

that's not what I've heard...

maybe they are doing both? imagine that?

but, what you don't seem to get it... we're not there for physical oil... the black stuff that comes out of the ground...

but we could be there to cause a war that could destabilize the oil market... which means the price of oil goes up... which means companies make record profits...

basically, it's the exact same idea that is happening in Calif. now with the oranges... same market principal, just with oil... watch the price of oranges, from last week to the next week...

and if you get the taxpayers to pay for a job that rises the price of your product... what do the companies care? the government will just tack on the costs to the debt...

You can add water purification plants (one of which was blown up by a suicide bomber on opening day when I was in Iraq) and electric plants. I was going to add more but after reading the dismal uninformed answers from the other people who obviously have never worked in Iraq rebuilding anything....forget it. It's a waste of time. They only believe what the see on TV or what............

All these "war for oil" claims are economically laughable. Would have been far cheaper just to go in and BUY all of Iraq's oil output at prevailing oil prices. Makes about as much sense as mounting an "Ocean's Eleven" or "Goldfinger" type of operation.. costing 10 million dollars.. to break in to a 7-11 store to steal a Snickers bar..

Because it is the liberal talking points. If we wanted oil, all we would have to do is drill for it. There is a lot here in the US

SO the American politicians can get campaign contribution and Government employees can get kickbacks from the companies responsible for the construction in Iraq.
