I just saw this video that showed some of our troops abusing a defenseless dog. Are their laws in the military to prevent this? Do you think he video is real? It made me sick to watch it.

The video does look legit. Those soldiers appear to be in the 1st Armored Division.

Stray dogs are shot many times due to the threat of rabies. Packs of them roam all over Iraq, and the threat of a dog biting someone is real.

That however is no excuse for what those soldiers were doing. There is a difference between neutralizing a threat (rabies) and being cruel and abusive. The Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) does prosecute animal abusers, as the reply above pointed out.

The video disturbed me as well, I hope their Chain of Command sees this and punishes the offenders accordingly.

If you really want to know look up the Uniform Code of Military Justice UCMJ for short. There are laws that deal with everything.
893, Article 93. Cruelty and maltreatment, or § 934, Article 134. General article. Includes offenses that are not specifically listed in the Manual for Courts-Martial and which may "cause disorder and neglect to the prejudice of good order and discipline in the armed forces, or conduct of a nature to bring discredit upon the armed forces." Article 134 is often considered to be a "catch-all" for various offenses that aren't necessarily covered by the other articles in the UCMJ. Article 134 offenses include disloyal statements, unclean equipment, improper wear of military uniform, abuse of public animals, adultery, bigamy, bribery, fraternization, et al.

Yes the military follows the same laws that we do but they get a worse punishment. My fiancee is airforce and I was reserve for the army.. I doubt that those are real sodiers. My fiancee just got home from Iraq and said that it doesnt even look like Iraq. Uniforms and such are avaliable for suvillians in certain stores and yard sales. I also doubt that real sodiers would film it and then be so careless about it. The consequences are much more worse for soldiers than civillians. All odds point against that it is a real solider.

several years ago military doctors were have dogs shot and practicing treating gun shot wounds. that was stopped by animal lovers. the only thing i have to say about that is if some one in iraq gets shot and the doctor doesn't have skill with gun shot wounds, i hope the one that gets shot is the son of the idiot that stopped the training. i think it's better to loose a dog than a scared young kid.

a lot of human beings do no longer think of. incredibly, that's what it comes all the way down to. they're so wrapped up of their very own little selves they in no way difficulty to contemplate anybody else. A puppy is in basic terms yet another element it incredibly is thoroughly disposable; if one dies or runs away, you in basic terms get yet another. usually, the abusive human beings have psychological issues--they sense they have been abused (by using somebody, by using society, by using undesirable good fortune, etc.) and sense they might take out their frustration and anger on weaker, extra susceptible beings--spouses, little ones, animals. no longer excusable. My dad used to kick our canines whilst he have been given mad at my mom till I bodily grabbed his leg interior the middle of a kick and advised him if he feels he has to break somebody, then injury me, it wasn't honest to take it out on harmless dependents who can no longer or does no longer combat decrease back (he stopped kicking the canines after that). Like littering on the line or recycling to save the planet, that's a discovered habit to proportion this worldwide with different critters, that people are no longer the masters yet caregivers. for an prolonged time, peopled qualified themselves using fact the masters of the animal kingdom, we had to "tame" wild beasts and kill the huge animals to instruct in basic terms how dominant people are starting to be. besides the shown fact that it's time to alter that suggestions-set; we are caregivers, no longer masters. yet changing human beings's minds is gradual, difficult, troublesome artwork.

Yes there are.

Military is actually held to a higher standard than civilians.

I'm not going to watch the video - so can't comment on that.

If a non-human threatens the mission, it can be killed.

Judgement call otherwise, and don't believe everything you watch, the whole story is always lacking and edited video is rampant.
