War is politics. What was the mission of the Nazis in WWII? To conquer the world.

It's always politics. We fought with England because we didn't like theirs!!

I think that if the focus went away from who was right however many years ago, and was directed towards how we can solve the problem by fully accomplishing the mission at the smallest cost of American lives, that would help progess.

Sun Tzu devoted a lot of time to this subject,

To quote him:

"Unaware of the army's inability to advance,
They order an advance,
Unaware of the army's inablility to retreat,
They order a retreat."

(paraphrased.)

Most politicians sit in their comfortable offices and dont even consider the reality of the situation on the battlefield, War and Politicians do not mix well, and because the military always has the government and media always starring over their shoulders they cannot act like they should.

Therefore, yes, if politics weren't involved the military could get things done better.

Yes, and no. Yes, if the politicians would quit using wars, etc. for "political gain", and no, because the "Commander In Chief" who leads all branches of the military-to whom the military Generals, etc. have to answer to-is the President of the United States-whether Democrat or Republican. Military personnel the Officers-can logistically figure and plan strategies to go in, conquer, and get out. It's the politicians' who play these games and we the people do have the freedom to voice our opinion to the people in D.C. Take care.

OF COURSE!!! We as a nation have to care about what the rest of the world thinks about us. Which means that we have to follow everything in the Geneva Code to the letter. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying we should disregard it whenever it suits our needs, but I do believe that we shouldn't hold ourselves to it when we're fighting an enemy who doesn't. That's why you see such a huge commotion when a soldier/marine gets in trouble for "questionable tactics". I think it would be a completely different story if U.S. News personnel weren't allowed over there. If we let the men and women in uniform do there job, the entire situation would be under control and things wouldn't be near as bad. STUPID LIBERALS!!!!!

Yes.I believe they could. Once the military is committed to war, the rules of engagement must be unencumbered by armchair generals and politicians in Washington DC in order for the full force of our military to be used at the discretion of the leaders fighting in the field.

It's all politics, you can't separate the two. The military has it's hands tied far to much and far two many reporters reporting what makes news to get their ratings up instead of the real stories.

I think politic's is the main controlling issue. The US military has the power to ELIMINATE it's adversaries, anywhere, anytime, we own the ROCK (Mother Earth). Our society here in the USA, is driven by, "Life Liberty and the Persuet of Happiness" or CAPITALISM!!! OUr real problem is, controlling the "DAWG" (USA MILITARY MACHINE). The DAWG is bad and we made it that way!

Yes, like it or not they are religioug fanatics. Give the marines the authority to take a mosk, things will change. Too many politatitians make rules limiting the military, not their job. I say say let them do there job. We will prevail.....and the job will be done.

Hell yeah they could!!! They would automatically have all the troops and equipment needed to soundly defeat the terrorists in the shortest time needed and fewest American lives lost and be done with it. They have prevented from doing that by Dimocrits and other liberals.
