Jerry = German. Not very hard to comprehend. Same with calling the Germans Krauts - Sauerkraut is a German food, therefore they were called Krauts. Charlie is just a general term used to refer to the enemy, it has nothing to do with them being communists or anything of the sort that some have said. Charlie was also used during the Vietnam war because the initials of the Viet Cong, VC, in military alphabet, are Victor Charlie. This sort of transpired and Charlie is now a general term for the enemy.

What you paid for it. There's millions of ammo boxes floating around, so they're not exactly worth a lot, but they are rugged as hell and handy for storing things you'd like to keep dry (if the seal is still intact).

The ones from the Vitnam era are current. Those from WWII may be worth about $20 in very good condition.

Search on ebay for similar items - this will give you an idea what people are asking and bidding.

Good luck.

They are $15.00 at a surplus store in my area. I use them for tools, spares, etc. on my boat to keep stuff dry.
