How much fighting do commissioned officers actually do?

Furthermore, about how many commissioned Marine officers have been killed in Iraq?

for my final i have to write one paragraph on whether or not
i believe we should send the troops to iraq or not.
it's not suppose to be an argumentative essay; just what i think we should do
and i need back ups.

that's where i'm lost.
i dont think we should send the troops over because
we've already risked enough lives fighting for nothing.

but i dont know that much about anything else.

helppp?!

If I want to become an officer in the Marine Corps but want to attend a college other than the Naval Academy, is that possible? If so, how does it work? When do I do what?

Sure they might kill our troops if they were shot with one. We use them becasue the WORK! An extra half mile away is a nice advantage. SURE they break things and hurt people. It's a damned cannon shell! Photos of dead enemy troops are a testament to their effectiveness. Great! Better than having to hit that tank 2 or 3 times closer up and endanger our people. Some people don't mind that. I do. Ever get a tooth x-ray (80 MR exposure)? Ever live or work in a cement building with no windows (Basement, factory)? The you are exposed to Radon gas! How about getting a sun tan? An afternoon of that will expose you to more radioactivity than I, as a nuke worker am alowed to get on the job in 90 days! Sure we use DR rounds. But we are not the only ones. I think Russia invented them. All old Com-bloc nations have them in their ammo cans. They've been around for a while because they WORK! One shot one kill ... of THEM not us!
North Korea has several Uranium Mines. Wonder what they do with it all.

Trying to find specific ship my father would have served on in the Coast Guard, when I was born. This would call for being able to locate a roster of the servicemen on any vessel fitting this critera. I have no idea where to start, and no living family member to ask.

Could I, for example, Offer really cheap labour to your companies with few environmental regulations...have a ready labour force of about 500,000,000 people...send my youth to your country to learn all the latest technologies in industry, military science, computers, and manufacturing, as well as send intelligence-gathering experts to blend into your society to get the information you don't want to share? Could I then negotiate a "most favourite trading partner" agreement with you so that the cheap goods we learned how to make can now be sold to you duty-free so that it will be a really smart idea to relocate all the major industries in your country to ours? Could I then spend many of the dollars I took from your economy to build a massive military machine to intimidate you into doing whatever I told you I wanted you to do?

If I did this in this way, could I not win the war without firing a shot, and have you finance the entire thing. Hmmmm. I think I'll do that.

Signed

My dad is in the military and i have always wanted to join as well. Ever since i was a 5 year old girl I told my friends i would be just like my dad. I heard about a program where you can join the military and get assistance for college. The only problem is i dont know the specifics. I want to go to Med. school. I dont know what kind of doctor yet though. I have heard that this program will give you a full ride through Med school if you keep the grades up and then work in one of the base clinics for a specific amount of time. I would join, go to school, and then be an active duty member after i finished the specified time in the clinics and probably get a side job as a doctor off base. Does anyone know of any qualifications or anything that might shed light on the issue? I'm 14 years old. and I'm trying to explore my options for college. serious answers only please. thank you.
