M4, it has multiple accessories to add tot he system, the rounds cause as much trauma as needed in urban combat. The weight is less and line of sight is shorter, so target acquisition is faster. The ability to carry a larger combat load also allows for the M-4 to be able to have a great number of rounds carried to weight . The M-4 has been improved to the point of as near to perfection for Urban war fare as possible. The m-4 can also be converted to the master key configuration. This is a M-4 with a 5 shot Remington 870 shot gun attached under it. This allows you to breach a door and then enter a room and be able to clear it for urban engagements. The rate of fire is faster because the bolt and recoil or shorter and lighter, so suppressive fire is quicker and more accurate. The over all length is shorter so the center of gravity is closer to the shooter so shoulder fired one shot one kill potential is greater. The AK is a good weapon for jungle environments due to the weight and range of the round however they are quickly degraded by the overall weight and mass production quality of the weapons. The M-4 also has a better barrel whip and barrel harmonics and can be fielded with a sound suppression system the AK lacks this ability.

ak47, it is more durable, reliable, and actually has better stopping power with its larger round. There are also many accessories you can add on just like the M4.

if it was a milled reciever ak47 and it was in new condition i might go for it .. otherwise the m4.

You can drive a tank over the ak,and has been proven in all climates(without cleaning)The M-4 is only to keep the colt factory operating.If I was on the front line,a M-14 is what I'd want....that tells my age.
