An article in Physics Today said their program was to develop a "genzai bakudan" (atomic bomb) and started about the same time as our Manhattan Proj. After the surrender the Army found 5 cyclotrons, smashed them and dumped them into Tokyo Harbor. Just look up the word "Konan" on the net. There is a lot of argument as to if they managed to actually detonate the bomb. The German transport sub U-234 (lol) that surrendered to us was carrying enriched uranium to Japan when it surrendered. This was enough to make about 1/5 of a bomb or make the bomb the Japanese had more potent. Even the North Koreans admit that there was a nuke blast in their country at the end of WWII. (KCNA, Pyongyang, August 8, 2006) They say the Tokyo Shimbun had disclosed that the Japanese Army had tested an A-bomb in the sea off Hungnam off the east coast of North Korea just before the end of WWII. Keep looking and you will find the information. Japan tries to downplay all of this. Wonder if they'll go nuke now.

Ive been thinking how come we didnt take down Saddam on the first war when every nation like france was on our side. The US wouldnt be in this mess if we did and if we did what would happen would there be insurgents or a easier occupation.

This is a serious question. Does an abrams tank have a cd player in it? If not why the hell not? Nothing would beat cruising in the desert at 50 mph listening to house or trance....in an abrams.

Hopefully after i graduate high school i will join the army as a tank crewman. Can i expect to have a cd player?

(All these are just opinions, no logical support or source) Before you decide on the percents please keep these in mind:
- Iraq has so much oil and do you think the US will gives that land to other countries after they had done so much to dominate the land.
- US only lost their troops in Iraq right now, because the terrorists are too busy to kick them out of the country, but if they left Iraq then the terrorist will be more free to do their job; don't you think the US afraid that the terrorists will bomb their country after they left the golden land.
- To me I think the US is not losing much because they pumped out so much oil and their troops mainly is protect the oil fields, which means the death of their armies are really minimum for a 6 years war. The Iraqis kill and bomb their own people, this will lead to civil war and the US can pretend that they are under pressure but really they are laughing like hell and I don't think they are going to cry for the death Iraqis there.

Our focus is supposed to be on winning the peace for good. What is with all the distractions?

Note, not all Democrats are liberals. There are liberals in the Republican party.

A Marine recruiter caused a car accident with a semi carrying cows next to one of my dad's fields. Some of the cows escaped and trampled our fence, destroying our crops. Every time my dad, who used to be in the Air Force, talks to insurance contact with the Marines, he tells my dad he is working on it or that he was "just about to call him". However, it's three months later, and we don't have our money. We settled for a lower compensation amount than the crops would have been worth had they been sold now. We are in the middle of a drought, so the money is badly needed. What can we do?

I have heard nothing but great and positive things about being a reserve in the US Army. What are the cons? I know and I realize that there is that possibility that I might get shipped over to Iraq or wherever. But besides that, what is a disadvantage of being an Army Reserve? Or, any advantages you want to share with me. I am a college student and I am seriously thinking about joining the reserves and I need to know all I can before I make up my mind. Thanks everyone!!
