I have heard nothing but great and positive things about being a reserve in the US Army. What are the cons? I know and I realize that there is that possibility that I might get shipped over to Iraq or wherever. But besides that, what is a disadvantage of being an Army Reserve? Or, any advantages you want to share with me. I am a college student and I am seriously thinking about joining the reserves and I need to know all I can before I make up my mind. Thanks everyone!!

well the army just isnt the best. i mean their physical training and mental training isnt as hard as most other branches. however they have a MUCH easier boot camp now. but if i were you, being from iraq, ild show your families and americans that you have the power to be the best, join marines or something like that. and if you have to join the army go into airborne.
p.s. please dont turn out to be a terrorist, my mom would kill me.

a million. i'm no longer able to talk for the LAPD incredibly, yet i understand extra bearing directly to the San Jose PD. An education does relatively help you interior the suggestions-set of utilising for a PD place. Departments desire sensible officers, and a bachelor's degree shows which you're knowledgeable and arranged to learn plenty. regardless of the undeniable fact that, interior the long-term you will no longer make plenty if to any extent further money as a cop with a BA than you may as a cop with an AA. ultimately, in case you would be in my view fulfilled by using having a bachelor's degree, then decide for it, yet or you will do wonderful with only an AA. 2. I honestly have a family individuals member working for the SJPD as a radio dispatcher. I honestly have yet another family individuals member working for the army as a dispatcher, doing particularly plenty an identical artwork. the former makes over thrice extra money than the 2d. the 1st has a union, delicate reward, and particularly sturdy holiday time. the 2d is at present working in Iraq, separated from his family individuals, and basically has individuals working his existence for something of his enlistment. military journey will help you out once you prepare for a regulation enforcement place, regardless of the undeniable fact that it may't be nicely worth countless years of low pay and probable working in dangerous conflict zones (returned, until you have different, extra own explanation why you may opt to be interior the army).

All the branches have their advantages. It really depends on why you're wanting to join.. what you're hoping to gain from the enlistment. If it's college money that you're after, your best bet is either any of the reserve components or the National Guard. If you're wanting to go to war, travel, and make a career out of it, choose one of the active branches. Not much help, I know, but you need to decide based on your own interests. ;)

It all depends on what you want out of life.

One of the 'cons' is that there is no doubt that you would get sent to Iraq. (You have knowledge of the culture and language that would make you too valuable not to be sent.)
