Would it be wise for me to go into the Army Reserves if Im a college student and Im from Kurdistan Iraq?

I have heard nothing but great and positive things about being a reserve in the US Army. What are the cons? I know and I realize that there is that possibility that I might get shipped over to Iraq or wherever. But besides that, what is a disadvantage of being an Army Reserve? Or, any advantages you want to share with me. I am a college student and I am seriously thinking about joining the reserves and I need to know all I can before I make up my mind. Thanks everyone!!

well the army just isnt the best. i mean their physical training and mental training isnt as hard as most other branches. however they have a MUCH easier boot camp now. but if i were you, being from iraq, ild show your families and americans that you have the power to be the best, join marines or something like that. and if you have to join the army go into airborne.

If it's college money that you're after, your best bet is either any of the reserve components or the National Guard. It all depends on what you want out of life.

One of the 'cons' is that there is no doubt that you would get sent to Iraq. (You have knowledge of the culture and language that would make you too valuable not to be sent.)
