(From CNN news ) The Marine was sitting on the ground with a thousand yard stare in Iraq. He was crying and saying softly "The war will end up like Vietnam". With that he buried his head in his hands and cried like a small child.

2,697 - Total dead. 56 dead so far in Sept.

And we're winning?!?

General John Abizaid said things were pretty cool in Iraq this time last month. Now he's saying more troops are needed. That man sure can tap-dance. He must be trying for Condomleezza's job - "pet prevaricator" for the Wh**e House criminal.

Support the troops. Bring 'em home before the Bringemon Moron murders them all.

Maj. Gen. James Thurman states that Baghdad is currently the priority battlefront in Iraq where the U.S. has invested 15,000 troops there.
That moths ago he has asked the Iraqi govenment to match US troop levels in Baghdad with just a fraction of the 128,000 Iraqi Army troops that the U.S. has trained and equipped and so far these Iraqi leaders have refused to increase the 9,000 Iraqi soldiers due to the risk there.

My father was a vietnam veteran. We never really discussed the time he served. He passed away in 1998 and I only have one picture of him in Vietnam and its a snapshop. I have his discharge paper so I know exactly where he was. I just want to see if anyone else has pictures of him

okay so i know i'm going to get responses about being a coward and sucking it up and crap like that. save your breath if that's all you have to offer, i need real answers. my best friend came home for a few days on emergency leave but didn't go back. that was nearly a month ago. they were miserable there, saw a counselor for depression and suicidal thoughts but wasn't put on medication because the dr didn't want to waste it on someone who didn't want to be there in the first place. my friend was a hold under and spent 2 weeks waiting for class to start, then got their mos changed but had to wait for new orders before they could be moved to the other battalion. after waiting a week they were told it could take another 2-3 weeks. that was when they just lost it, couldn't take being there anymore. problem is, now what do they do? i know people will say to go back, but do they have to go there? they don't know if the orders were ever changed, so who would be their co? any advice?

What happens to the few weak democracies that are left?

I found out sometime this summer that the Iraqis were putting on "All Night Long" by Lionel Ritchie during those night raids. I was wondering what you would want to hear if/when you're getting carpet bombed or what you listen to, if anything, you think of when you are in combat. Results to be published on my blog soon.
