Did both the RFA and the RGA use Holt Artillery tractors in WW1?

The Royal Field Artillery and the Royal Garrison Artillery had various forms of traction power for their guns but as to Holt Artillery tractors I am not certain but it is highly probable as the British Army had purchased them from America..There is a story that a senior British army officer having watched them in action the Western Front decided if they were armoured they could be used against the German trenches.
