The Yellowstone supervolcano is overdue for an eruption, and its previous eruptions have been catasrophic. However, since the frequency of its eruptions are once every 65000 years are so, it could remain "overdue" for hundreds (if not thousands) of more years.

I believe the Iraqis. Am tired of US military telling us how the Iraqis feel. Just tired.

BAGHDAD, Sept. 26 -- A strong majority of Iraqis want U.S.-led military forces to immediately withdraw from the country, saying their swift departure would make Iraq more secure and decrease sectarian violence, according to new polls by the State Department and independent researchers. In Baghdad, for example, nearly three-quarters of residents polled said they would feel safer if U.S. and other foreign forces left Iraq, with 65 percent of those asked favoring an immediate pullout, according to State Department polling results obtained by The Washington Post.
Another new poll, found that 71 percent of Iraqis questioned want the Iraqi government to ask foreign forces to depart within a year. By large margins, though, Iraqis believed that the U.S. government would refuse the request, with 77 percent of those polled saying the United States intends keep permanent military bases in the country..

Gen Patton said it best. "You have to admire the enemy and respect them before you can beat them". However, in the case of the Iraq war it is the USA who are the terrorist.

Do you think a remark I heard from ex RAF pilot would have worked in the Falkland campain"If we had sent a sqaudron of Vulcans over Beunos Aires we wouldent have had to fight for the Falkland Islands they would have packed it in there and then",I dont think he meant to bomb them but remembering how powerfull and intimidating five in one go would have been.I know the logistics of flying one to bomb Port Stanley were a nightmare,Comments please.

I do not think torture should be allowed to find out IF someone knows something.

i do, however, believe that if certain people are known to be connected to certain groups (terrorist), then torture should be used to extract information from them.

Does anyone not think that torture should be used on someone who is knowingly trying to destroy civilian life, in order to save those lives?

I've read speculations that state that Iraq was invaded mainly due to changing its oil currency from US dollars to Euros. Though there might be more to it than that, it would seem to give a basis why the EU was so against the war while American politicians were for it. That being said, both Iran and Venezuela have either recently switched from US dollars to Euros, or are very close to it. Could this be why the war drums are beginning to sound off again?
