When we went to war with Iraq even the Democrats voted overwhelmingly to go to war ("voting for it before voting against it"). You can say we shouldn't have gone in now but, that is hindsight and everyone agreed that we should when we did. This is a fact the Democrats want to forget. Now that were in every Democrat that voted to go in wants to change direction. I know that is what the polls say we should do but is cut and run a valid strategy? Did it work in Somalia, or Beirut? It has only emboldened the radical Muslims when used in the past. Bin Laden referred to these instances in a video to other radical Muslims (Aljazeer). "Those who ignore history are destine to repeat it". We should stop playing politics with the war and win it! But that's not going to happen in any other year, let alone an election year. About the only thing we can do is decide which side argues politics and which argues logic and vote for the side making the most prudent argument. Keep in mind those who argue this is an illegal war would argue so was WWI, WWII Kuwait, etc.

It is now a civil war. They should handle this part on their own. However, we won't "abandon" the "good citizens" of Iraq. The "good citizens" are the ones we think will embrace our thinking. Iraq is an oil rich country. We need lots of oil to maintain our lifestyle. We won't touch Alaskan reserves.
So, we will keep the playing field unlevel in the civil war. Then the people we say are good will win the war. Then they will be our friends. If they are not, we will fight again.

Didn't you learn anything on the playground? Stay near the kid that has the candy! It's as simple like that. Oh, and you can call the candy "democracy" if you want and it makes you feel better.

It's now a proven fact that Iraq was not a threat to any of those countries now in occupation. If the only excuse for staying is to create a liberal democratic society,it's a complete folly.Social evolution has to develop at its own pace.No amount of interference will enable shortcuts over natural steps of social progression.Excuse me [Iraq] for explaining it this way,but try teaching a teenage son to behave like his parents and avoid the mistakes you made at his age.See how far you get.

won't be able to be fought any incorrect way. we gained't make certain who the enemy is. that's the undertaking with guerrilla war. The undesirable guy could be posing as a save proprietor in the process the day and a bomb maker at night. Vietnam is a first-rate occasion of that. of course we did no longer study that lesson. Doubt that? seem on the Germans, they could no longer incorporate France, or the different u . s . they invaded. the dislike against the Germans become extreme and fueled guerrilla war. =============== life is so easy, yet we insist on making it complicated Confucius 551 - 479 BC =============== Peace Jim .

No... we found no weapons of mass destruction which is the reason we are there in the first place. Not to mention this started off as us looking for bin laden in afghanistan following the 9/11 attacks. This war is costing tax payers trillions of dollars. Why should we pay to fix their f*cked up country when we have our own issues here?

This is a war between sunnis and Shiáites. It has nothing to do with America. Their efforts should be focused on killing bin laden, not taking over a country.

Yes moving into iraq was a good thing, i suported Bush and Blair all the way and i'm only 15. We have opinions to you know, if we hadn't gone to iraq we would have had chemical warfare on our hands never mind nuclear war, there was WOMD in iraq, lets face it its not hard to hide them with thousands of miles of deserts and iran next door. So yes it was right to go into iraq but now to many british and american soldiers are dieing, it is time this war was resolved.

We had no legal or legitimate reason to GO to Iraq, but now that we injured them, we owe their people some security and reparations until they can become stable enough to rule themselves. Unfortunately, we allowed our corporations to make decisions about trade practices, the initial constitution, where money would be spent, and which areas to protect. What we ended up with was a loss of the local community farm markets, oil fields that were kept from producing, inflamed religious hatreds, and open season for terrorists.

Maybe we shouldn't have gone in the first place, but if we left now it would be worse then when Sadam was in power. The democratic population could in no way defend themselves from the extremist groups and neighboring countries at this time. If we left we they would be overrun and the whole country would become a terriort training grounds. We should get them to a place where they could do this on their own and leave in good terms. If we left now even the people who like americans would hate us.

MIKE HUNT: How do you know it's pointless? Since you seem to know everything, talk to me about. Tell me what is happening? EXPLAIN! How do you know we should not be there? Oh, let me think... because you listen to the other people who are against it and now u become one of them.

If we pull out, and there is another attack on us, i will LOVE to see your face because u will know it was a BIG mistake pulling out thinking they won't do anything anymore.

Example: a guy shot you in the stomach with a 9mm and you know where he lives at, are u gonna tell me u ain't gonna do s.h.i.t about it??

Those troops are fighting for your freedom, the U.S is already unsafe, what makes u think it will be safer by not having them fighting insurgents/terrorist?
