Its called a chit.... submit one. As a member of the Marines you should know this. It never hurts to put one in requesting a discharge... just make sure you list the reasons, and they better be good or you will have that military boot stuck up yourass by your superiors till you do get out.

My first thought was to tell you to finish your obligation...keep your word and earn your honorable discharge. But on reflection I suggest you find some way to get out.

I have known too many honorable men and women in the service..all branches...to want to have some wimp fouling the honor of those who are committed to serve our country.

You should have thought about this prior to sign up. Yeah, I know...the USMC is tough and I doubt you are much of a Marine anyway.

Answer to your question....slug your commanding officer. After a couple of years in the brig you'll get the discharge you deserve...but perhaps didn't count on.

you could try for a hardship discharge if you have a family member that needs your help to live because they're disabled or something like that, if you can prove that they are in that state of being, you can put it in the paperwork and upon approval, they'll let you out of your contract. And the discharge will be honorable, provided your record is clean. It takes like 8 months though.

It all depends on the reason why you're leaving. I did my 4 years active and 4 years reserve in the Army without any problems so I got my honorable.

Why do you want to get out? My husband was honorably discharged but he was blown up in Iraq ..
He told me most people faked suicide attempts by cutting their wrists or acted like they went insane... they were kicked out.
