It is/was a "secret" US military test facility, where they tested new air craft and missiles and such. It's in the middle of the dessert, so it's great for testing as there isn't a whole lot around.

At the outer perimeters, there are plane little signs that say, "government property, do not enter" and if you go beyond those, Military men will come escort you off. They have proximity detectors and cameras all around, as well as men watching from the hills.

Area 51 is supposedly a location in which people claimed that they saw a UFO and then called the government. The government quickly devoloped a extremely heavy duty fence and a strong and strict security system. According to what most people say besides those that work at NASA, Area 51 is a location where the first man landed on the moon. The reason why I say 'Besides those who work at NASA' is because basically what we are discovering now is that man never really landed on the moon. It all took place in Area 51. So NASA is really lying to the rest of the world. That is where the "Moon" is. On Earth. Weird how we are just discovering these 40 something years later. Thats why Area 51 is so well protected. Because NASA does not want somebody to wander into Area 51 and find out where the Moon really is and tell the rest of the world. I have no idea how we found this out be we do know now. And I know this for quite a few reasons:

- If there is no wind on the moon then why does the American Flag wave on the so called "Moon."
- Why else would Area 51 be so well protected? Because Area 51 is the moon and the rest of the world is not supposed to find out about this.
-Where does all the light come from if there is no light on the moon.
These are just some of the hundreds of reasons why man never landed on the moon.

Also, did you know that you could be killed by one of the hundreds of security gaurds if you come within one mile of Area 51?

Facility in Southern Nevada desert testing advanced craft, from the U2 spy plane, SR-71 Blackbirds, F117A Stealth fighters, B2 Stealth Bomber and now various unmanned craft. Sorry, no back engineering of alien craft or other consipiracy type activities.

Regarding the moon landing conspiracy:
America did not land on the Moon. We payed billions of dollars for the 360 foot Saturn 5 rocket so we could look at it and say wow that is a big rocket. We kept approx. 400,000 technicians, scientists and construction contractors quiet, with zero leaks to the public. The rocks that we thought that came from moon and have proved to be from the moon are really from the Pacific Ocean.

There is a military base near Roswell called Area 51 and there are many 'conspiracy' theories that an alien spacecraft crashed close by in 1954. It is believed that the wreckage from that craft is being kept inside that miltary base and further experiments and military research is ongoing but the US government will not 'fess up.

It's a super-secret facility that used by the government to test new weapons and weapon platforms. They have to keep it out in the middle of nowhere of the Democrats will leak all the secrets to the New York Times.
