i was just wondering since there are females in the basic training along with the males i am sure there is some kind of sexual activity going on. even on the weekends off are they allowed to have any sexual engagements? whether or not its with a mutual solider? my man packed his bags today to go to the south for his basic training an i found condomns in his belongings.. i am flippin out bc i dont know how these situations are dealt with or if they even actually takes place... are they disciplined?? are they even allowed to do such a thing?? would they even have time to?..i know it could be a quick one but still... is there a resonable amount of time for any incidents to occur? i am young and he plans on marrying me when he comes back but i am not sure if i want to considering he was leaving "prepared"...i just see where his mindset is... hmmm

Allowed to... NO !! As someone else stated, it's in violation of the UCMJ... though I think that the recruit signs an order that makes them aware that Fraternization is in violation of regulations.

Upon arrival, those condoms will be found and confiscated as "contraband"... there will also be some sharp and snide comments from the Drill Instructor.

I went through Navy Basic Training in 1985 in Orlando, Florida at the TIME we had separate male and female companies. For the most part I was too busy to chase the ladies... look at them yes, but "hook-up": NO.

YES, there were those who were doing a little sneaking up to the laundry room in the late night hours... BUT it is a big risk. We only were allowed to "mingle" during the last few days, and then the day after Pass in Review (Graduation).

YOU DO have a firm idea on HIS mindset though... and don't accept an excuse like: "Umm... I wanted to have them to protect my M-16 if I was in a swamp !!"

Yeah, THAT'S the ticket !!

In the first couple days he will have to empty ALL his stuff onto his bunk. The DI will go through it ALL and throw away things like candy bars, the condoms, and anything else considered contraband. I'm sure the condoms will get his name remembered all through basic and his life for the 8 weeks of training will be hell. I'm sure the DI will make comments eluding the the possibility of him being gay and wanting to have sex with the other male trainees in his dorm. He may want to reconsider bringing them.

IF he does manage to hook up during basic he could very well be kicked out of the military if caught. The discharge and travel orders and everything else he would need to go back home after getting kicked out could take awhile. Having been through AF basic, those who didn't make it ended up doing crappy little details all day long all week long for about 4 weeks longer than they would have if they had just finished training.

There are no weekends off except for a couple hours on Sunday to attend services. Other than that the only other time is when you are supposed to be asleep and then if you get caught out of your bed you had better be in your dorm and on your way to of from the bathroom. God help you if you are caught outside your dorm area after hours.

They'll just send those condoms home or throw them away. It's not allowed, they are pretty specific with what you can, can't bring. My sister just joined the Navy this year, and pretty much during bootcamp you can't do anything sexual (hardly have the time for it, I believe), but after, the AIT (gar, I don't remember what it's called in the Navy), that's when stuff can happen.

It already sounds like he has booty with other girls (or people) on his mind, so your man will probably be unfaithful at some point.

it is not allowed in basic training or AIT in the army for any recruit or (student) to engage in sex with any other student or cadre. it is punishable by article 15. the people involved could lose rank if they have it, money, or get extra duty if not all the above. basic is serious and any interacting with females is only done on work time. when the night is done they are not allowed together. the women are even sperate in the barracks from the men. now, that said, it does happen but if they get caught they can get in huge trouble. in AIT it happens but usually off base on the passes. unless thinks have changed there are no passes in basic. they get sunday off.

depending on the level of shakedown they are having nowadays they might make him throw it away, and while technically you are not allowed ot have sexual relations while at training trust me it still goes on, depending on where he going there might be a difference in the frequency of chances for his activities. if he is going through the infantry/combat engineer combined basic with AIT than there shouldnt be any females in his training platoon but unfortunately doesnt guarantee everything. i have had caught ppl getting it on in "porta-potty", in the bathroom, straight up in the woods, in empty barracks bays, behind the dumpster, when ppl are desperate they will find a place.

after the halfway point or something now depending on the post and the unit they can get 4 hr passes or something to go to the px, military clothing and sales, the movie theater, they got little clubs where they got a dj (abeit a bad one) and tvs, couches stuff like that. just saying when i went Ft. Leonard Wood (home of the Engineers) I was shocked at how much the difference the pvts are treated now. They get actual free time, one of them complained they had to do like 6 hours of "area beautification" (cutting grass, weeds, stuff like that). oh man

anyway, advice, whatever is going to happen will happen be it now or couple of yrs from now, if you cant trust EACH OTHER right now, than better now when you guys have to squabble to see who gets which half. let it be and if you have proof he is cheating on you write/call/email his company commander and they will square him away faster than he can take a deep breathe

Are they allowed? NO.....Fratenization is punishable under the Uniformed Code of Military Justice.

Does that mean that it does not happen...no....it happens all the time. I'd hate to say it, but there would be no other reason to be taking condoms.......

And yes, there are plenty of chances afforded....especially if he is going into the Navy or Air Force.....when I was in Basic Training (Army) the laundry room was a popular place.....and towards the later parts of training there will be more free time on the weekends.

No... they keep pretty close tabs on you.. and if you are not where you are suppose to be and they find out... BIG mistake.

If there is any gay activity... you don't want to be found out either.

Your "personal" time is extremely limited while in basic. I actually can't even remember being permitted to go into town until after basic.

the military owns you 24/7 and if you do have any "free" time, that time is used to typically rest, polish shoes & boots, laundry etc

Being allowed to should be the least of my worries. WHY was he taking condoms if he was supposed to marry you when he came back. My husband is a recruiter, and there have been alot of cases where the guy left for basic, saying he was gonna marry so and so, and when they came back, he didn't want to have anything to do with her. Be careful sweetie.
